no need to tighten the cap or whatever, that's the problem there is with the switch control, which must be touched when the lid closed. you just need to open the DVD case cover, then locate these switches, make sure the switch is still normal or not, if it is normal that you only need to give a little pad on the suppressor to the switch. suppressor usually exists on the DVD casing.
Not sure it's a solution, per se, but I discovered that my Matsui was acting as if I was opening and closing it, so I guessed that it was the lid. Once I put a paperweight on the "Press to Open" part of the lid, the DVD played through. I'm looking how to fix the lid but that's a workaround for now. Best of Luck - M
