Turning on the TV

Lately, it is necessary to press power button on remote for five or so minutes. Eventually it will come on. The red light flickers when you touch the button 'Power' and eventually it will stay on and the TV screen lights up and there is no problem until we turn it off and after 1/2 hour or so, it will again take numerous attempts to get the screen on. For the past 2 days it will not come on at all. No TV screen and no flickering light.

samething, hit the remote or the power button, and it takes a few tries to get it to light off, like a relay is not closing all the way in it.

Can't turn on my 940mw. Power cable works, so the monitor is getting power. No lights. nada.

Pulled mine a part to look things over , power supply on mine has capacitors that look like they are going bad , would not be that hard to pull the power supply, and put in some new ones. i let my kid have it to play games on, as long it's on, it works, so leave it on.

Sounds like a bad power supply. It it's external you could just replace it, if it's internal, you will have to get it repaired.

OK, need to know a few things before providing an answer on this one

1) Has the screen flickered in the recent past?
2) Has this ever occurred before?
3) Have you heard any noise coming from the monitor?
4) Has the screen grown dim or brighter lately

Thanks!

My 32inch lcd tv keeps flickering it started all the sudden

TRY THIS

    • 1 Turn the TV off with the front-mounted power button, not the remote. Unplug the TV's power cord from the wall outlet. Let an hour pass before plugging the cord back into the wall outlet. Turn the TV back on with the front-mounted power button and wait until it has fully restarted. Bring up a TV channel to see if the image being presented on the LCD screen is no longer flickering. A momentary power surge can cause the circuitry inside the LG-brand LCD TV to function erratically.
    • 2 Unplug the video cable from the video connection on the back or side panel of the LG TV. If more than one video cable is connected to the TV, disconnect all of them. Disconnect the other end of the video cable from the video source device that it's attached to -- a DVD or Blu-ray player, or a satellite receiver or cable box. Blow off the connections on the video source device and on the back or side panel of the TV with bursts of compressed air. Reinsert one end of the video cable into the video source device and the other end into the video input that it was connected to. Turn the TV back on with is remote to see if the picture is now free of flickering. A loose or partially connected video cable can cause the LCD TV's screen to flicker when presenting an image.
    • 3 Turn the TV off and unplug its power cord from the wall outlet. Place a power conditioner next to the wall outlet. Plug the power conditioner's power cord into the wall outlet. Plug the TV's power cord into one of the AC sockets on the power conditioner. Turn the power conditioner on. Turn the TV on to see if the picture is now free of flickering. The RF signals in the electric line that the LG TV is drawing power from can cause flicking through interference patterns being generated.

Dell 2005FPW Monitor Flicker problem

The flickering is most likely the florescent backlight having a hard time starting, Just like in a light fixture, as it gets old, it takes longer to warm up to get full functionality.
If under warranty, contact Dell for a replacement, if not, then when it becomes untenable, replace the monitor. Prices are dropping drastically, an new 20 or 22 In can be bought for about $150 or less

Helpme please

Resetting the TV
If the buttons on the remote AND the buttons on the TV case do not work (channels do not change and you cannot open or navigate the menu), the TV has stopped responding. Reset the TV as follows:

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

clip_image001.jpg
1. Unplug the TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the TV.

hope this may help;
