Try resetting the unit. There is a reset button under the faceplate. Carefully remove the faceplate with the Garmin logo with your fingernail or a knife blade. There is a reset button along the right side. I bought a refurbished C340 and it did the same thing right out of the box. The tech support people where I purchased the unit told me how to reset it.

I have a Netgear WNR 2000 router for my home network. I am trying to connect an Epson NX420 printer. Instruction state to enter MAC address to router. I have the MAC address, but do not know how to enter...

I am not too familiar with NetGear routers, but all linksys routers have mac address filters, this allows the router to only accept connections from previously stated mac addresses. I never had to do such a thing for my wireless printer, but this could be the problem. Usually wireless printers just ask for a security code (WEP/etc.) and connect on their own. Sorry i cant be anymore direct.

There is a small pinhole on the bottom or right hand side of the unit for reset. Try hitting this with a paper clip or pin. If that doesn't help you may have to take it into a store.

H ow do i reset my garmin street pilot c340

To reset the Garmin C340 you will need to pull the Bezel off that goes around the screen. There is a reset button under there. Make sure that is what you really want to do before you do it.

Canada maps

After pressing Where To?, then Address, you should see a screen that says the state you were last in, and below that it should say something to the effect of Enter State/Province. Press this, then enter the Canadian Province you wish to navigate to, such as Ontario. You should then be able to enter the rest of the Canadian address as usual.

Garmin StreetPilot c340 settings

In order to get the unit to speak out street names, you have to have selected a voice that has a (TTS) next to it. This stands for Text-to-Speech. Press the button that looks like a wrench at the bottom of the main screen. Then press the button that looks like a pair of lips. You should see a menu with language and voice choices. Make sure you see the (TTS) next to the one you choose. The unit should then speak the name of the streets for you.

GARMIN BASICS FOR THE ELECTRONICALLY CHALLENGED

first turn it on and let the unit acquire satellites to find your home state. Then you can set up your address as your "home location". When I first set it up, I was able to pick up the satellites in my bedroom (scary....)...everything worked just fine.

StreetPilot c 340 does not allow to enter address

Ok, you've tried a reset, but have you tried a Master Reset? Doing this WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR FAVORITES, but it may help. Turn the unit off. Press the "On" button with your finger on the bottom right of the screen at the same time. Release the "On" button, but keep pressing the screen until the unit asks if you're sure you want to reset all data. Press "Yes". See if this helps.

Where to only provides the state you are in--can't be changed

It sounds as if you have an older software. However newer software, don't press address, but rather press near... at the bottom of the where to page, and select"a different city" or on the where to page select spell, and spell a name that you know appears in the adjacent state, but not yours...

Good Luck, GB_C

If this doesn't work, upgrade your software, and try anew...

Map data availability

"I tried to load the new 2008 City Navigator but the update was interrupted."

You deleted your previous maps, therefore there are no maps on the unit. Try reloading the maps again and this time let it continue all the way to the end. It will take a couple of hours depending on loading all maps or only certain states.
