Why does some of the songs say,"syncorize to continue your music subscription"? my brother has another brand and the songs that don't work on mine work fine on his

    Is this the Sansa E260 or Sansa E260R? The E260R is the Rhapsody-specific player. To continue use of Rhapsody content, you will need to synchronize with Rhapsody. If you don't have a Rhapsody account, you can delete the content. If you never had a Rhapsody account, this is very strange and needs to be investigated further.



    [If you don't have an E260R player, someone installed the wrong firmware. Did you or someone else recently attempt to repair a system failure?]

    12-34-21 - the answer to your question is in d01's post - resynchronize to Rhapsody - you will have to do this every 30 days, at least - if you ever cancel your Rhapsody subscription, your Rhapsody songs will become unusable

    Convert the songs to Mp3 format, and you will no longer have these problems

If you got your songs from a music service, especially Rhapsody, the songs have a fixed-term DRM license on them. After a certain period of time - sometimes as little as 3 days - you have to resynchronize the songs to the music service from where you got the songs. If you let your music service subscription lapse, then the songs will not be usable until you renew your subscription. This process of resynchronizing the songs to the music service does not always go smoothly. Sometimes synchronizing through Rhapsody or another service does not resolve your issue - in this case, you will have to go through the long, tedious process of deleting the affected songs off of your player and reloading them - either through the music service or through Windows Media Player.

If you never want to deal with this problem again, the solution is to only download songs that are in mp3 format. Mp3 files do not expire once your music service subscription has expired, and they do not give you strange messages to resynchronize the files.

How to get rid of the "synchronize to continue music subscription" message if it just appears out of nowhere on your player- this fixed mine when it gave me that message:

delete the STORE.HDS file in the system/wmdrmpd directory of your sansa (optional)

import your protected songs into WMP, and resync your protected music (with WMP) in MTP mode

play a protected song and let it rebuild the store.hds file (you will experience severe lag for about 15 seconds as it rebuilds) and the music should play.

E250 message "synchronize to continue your music subscription"


The songs that are giving you this message are in WMA - the music service that was used to download them either has an expired subscription, or you have to resynchronize that player to that music service (whether it was Rhapsody or not). Also, the songs that are giving you this message might have had fixed-term licenses, and now the licenses have expired. Here are your options:
1) Renew the music service subscription
2) If it is renewed, then resynchronize your player to that music service
3) Convert those songs to mp3 format (probably illegal)
4) Remove the DRM encryption from those songs (definitely illegal)

Those are your choices.

please use the windows media player 10, click on sync and put all the songs you want in the sync list then click on start sync and it should sync properly without any problems.

get rid of win media 11 completly uninstall it go back to old nero or old windows media player or copy and paste songs straight to mp3 player on my computer drive letter output
any stolen music or music not haveing a tag to is getting sent up the road to gov.
most song are pay right now song these are subscritions
windows is helping in cracking down on music jackers

it's asking that you verify the DRM status (i.e., that you bought it and it resides on YOUR computer.) It cannot play the file until you synchronize it with windows media player. You can delete them off of the MP3 player just by noting which songs don't play and deleting them through windows explorer when the player is connected.

Wants me to "syncronize to continue music subscription"


I have the same problem, I have tried updating the clock using rhapsody, it should work for 30 days before needing to sync. ANY IDEAS anybody. I have requested help from SANDISK.

Sansa won't play songs


When you see "SYNCHRONIZE TO CONTINUE YOUR MUSIC SUBSCRIPTION" that means you need to sync your device again because you are using a subscription service like napster or yahoo music. Because you are using subscription songs you have to periodically sync your player with your computer so the subscription can confirm you are still a member
