Question about Xerox Phaser 8500/DN Printer
I now this may sound stupid, but I have just realized that my Xerox Phaser 8500DN is longer in operation. Although I have checked the power supply, the cables, the switch... no power... no lights on, nothing on the screen... Is there a way to check what is wrong (before I call a technician)
Most likely the electronics module has failed. You can loosen the 2 knobs on the back of the machine and slide out the main board and re seat that. See if that helps.
Nothing happens when you turn it on and off I am assuming.
There is a known problem with that screen going bad. But that is just a blank display not totally dead.

1) verify that the power is plugged into a known good power plug in the wall. make sure there is not a surge protector, extension cord connected to it.
2) disconnect any usb and/or ethernet cables.
3) reseat the ram
4) disconnect any optional accessories such as lower trays, hard drives, etc. to isolate any possible items taking down the printer.
