Question about Video Cameras

1 Answer

No sound on playback

There is no sound on playback on the camcorder even though volume set to maximum. However ,when i play the recording via my television the sound is fine. I suspected a mute facility on the camcorder but i am unable to prove this.
Thankyou,
Byan Smith.

My Sanyo VPC-E1 used to work fine. Now, however, I can no longer record video with sound. If I play old clips they sound great. I never "turned the mic off" if that is even possible. Not too sure why I don't get video with sound but I'll keep trying...

I can't hear clearly but the volume is in the maximum volume

if your camcorder uses cassete then please try your earlier recorded cassette. if the problem is with the newly recorded one then please use cleaner to clean the camcorder. possibly the audio recording and playback head might have some deposit on. it cleaning should help.
if you cant find cleaner dampen cotton cloth with very little alcohol and rub all the metal part except a round drum whic is video head and can be damaged.

I have sony handycam DCR-SR45. i am able to play back the recordings but there is no sound even though volume is set at maximum

I have had to replace the speaker on this model quite alot. You can try taking a pencil and pressing in on the reset button just to make sure its not a user setting that has gotten set, if that doesnt work, the speaker needs to be replaced, also another way to see is connect the camcorder to the tv with the supplied cable that came with it, it you have audio there then definitely a speaker is bad. I hope this helps.

No sound on playback

Try playing any other recorded disc in the Camcorder to check you're able to hear sound from it.

Next, press and hold the Reset button on the Camcorder for 30 seconds then turn it off then back ON.

Then, try playing the disc in the Camcorder.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sony trv18e a few things don't work

Night shot light is "Infra Red" and you can not see it directly though camera will shoot in darkness if you slide ON Night-Shot switch.

Regarding playback volume problem, I think built-in speaker is defective ( open ) and needs to be replaced.
Let me know if you want some more info.

Audio in playback mode doesn't work

Hi There, Try this: Connect you camcorder to your tv set via a/v input cable. Put camera in cam mode so you can see the picture on the tv. Turn up the volume on tv and if it squeels, the mic on the cam is ok. Record something and then play it back on the tv, if its ok, then all your audio is functioning. This means that the SPEAKER on your camera is defective.
Thanks, mr cicmo

Distorted sound on playback, samsung mini dv camcorder.

Try a DV tape cleaner first. If that doesn't work, see what it would take to get the audio heads realigned. Any camera store can do that for you.

No audio during playback

On my handycam you have to hit the Volume + button while playing back. Everytime you playback it starts volume at zero and you have to volume up to hear anytime you playback.
