We'll if the cd tray fails to open either by the remote or by the eject button on front fascia...try looking for a small pinhole underneath the cd tray.this is a manual release port which allows you to push a sewing needle or fine paper clip.this should release the tray mechanism.sometimes the tray jumps a cog during transportation from one place to another or the cd does not seat into the tray properly and prevents normal ejection.hope this is helpful.
This does happen with CD trays, it's quite common. I can't remember the exact mot common cause, but it's some worn out part, such as a small (plastic) cog wheel. Search on "cd tray won't open" on the internet to find a multitude of reasons, most to do with computer CD trays, but I guess the mechanism is essentially the same. These may also describe ways round the problem.
Some CD players have a small hole on the front near the tray into which poking a straightened out paperclip should enable you to open the tray by a few mm, enough to be able to pull it open in an emergency - but it's awkward to do on a frequent basis.
Two possible causes.1) Vol Settings changed in windows2) Bad hardware
1) Check your system's sound settings:
For Xp
Goto Control Panel
Double Click Sound and Audio devices / Sound, Speech, and Audio Devices
In device Volume Click Advance
Master Volume Control Window will open
Increase all the volumes to max, also make sure that Mute us UNCHECKED.
OR
From the bottom right corner of your screen in system tray, double click a small speaker icon and open Master Volume Control.
For Vista and Windows 7
From system tray (its at bottom right corner of your screen) double click on small speaker icon, it will open Volume mixer
Increase the volume to max.
2) If this does not work, then test your speakers by connecting it to some other system and vice versa.
If you get desired sound volume when you connect some other speakers to your system, then you have to change your speakers. And if your speakers are working fine on other system then you may have to purchase a new sound card.
install/ update your audio device drivers (use mother board cd) Right click on My computer icon, select manage, this will open your management console. select device manager on left hand side. this will show all the installed devices on your computer. Ensure that you are not seeing and yellow question mark on any device. Ensure that your audio device drivers are installed. 2. check your system volume is not mute. 3. rightclick on volume icon on tray select volume mixer increase wave volume. hope this will solve your problem
