I hav got fed up of this problem in my ibm e74 17'' crt monitor, my thinkcentre has gone older thn 3 yrs otherwise i wud hav replaced the monitor.......isnt there any solution other thn replacing the transistors & diode coz its a very diffficult option......plzz help me if u can.....thanx

The buttons in front of your monitor is a toggle switch. This kind of switch is that when ' they get older they produces resistance and works with their own way, without pressing them. if you can do open your monitor you can do replace it.
1. prepare the following: * screw driver/soldering iron/soldering lead/paint brush to remove melted leads. 2. remove all the toggle switch, replace all of it if possible, don't worry its really not expensive, it just cost about 12-15 pesos each. 3. then put in the new switches and try to put in the way it was before. 4. close back the monitor. this is 99.95% sure.
note: before doing these, unplug the wire from the outlet to avoid electric shock.
