Turned on computer (Pavilion a1657c), HD light operates, Monitor has little window saying:
HDMI Input: No Input Signal
VGA Input: No Input Signal
Recommended Settings: 1920x1080 - 60hz
Changed from the monitor that came with it (HP f2105 digital ouyput) to my Samsung analog and same message comes on dark screen.

Power light on monitor lights but screen is black. Is it done?

This can happen if you somehow changed the input setting. Make sure to check the "Input" setting on the on-screen menu and make sure it's set to the proper type of input (HDMI/Digital or D-Sub/Analog) for the cable you're using. If that is correct, and you don't get an image, then you should also try to connect your monitor to another computer using another cable...because it actually may be your computer's video output, or a bad cable, that is the problem, and not the monitor.

If those checks don't solve the issue, then yes it may be "done."

This link will provide you with a user manual for your monitor to assist with the on-screen menu selection.

My Philips 170C monitor does not work when I turn on. It only says "attention signal off".

it thinks this is no input signal. make sure your computer is on and the cables are secure, switch your screen with a known good one from a freind. this will rule out your computer. if the pc is fgood maybe go into the bad monitor menu settings and make sure the input mode is correct. if this is not the cause you may need to have it repair, your monitor video or display board maybe bad.

"Input not supported" roaming on my screen

It means that the resolution of the windows is set too high for your monitor. You will have to find some better monitor to connect it to it, and then to lower the resolution, after that, it should be working just fine

My w17e monitor says "input not supported"

Not quite sure what the question is that you have not already answered for yourself.
That monitor's maximum resolution is given as 1440 X 900 at 60Hz and installing a more powerful video card won't change that.

No video input

1. check to see that the video source is set to a resolution and refresh rate that is supported by your LCD widescreen.

a recommended setting to start with is 640x480@60Hz PAL COMPOSITE SVIDEO standard.

the next setting to try is of course 800x600@60Hz

if the LCD screen supports greater resolutions and refresh rates feel free to try them.

I'm confident that this will FixYa!

How to hook this monitor onto my computer

You would have got a CD with this moniter..
we ahve install that cd..
and its better to check the cables first which would be the
VGA CORD that is blue in colour which connects your moniter with the tower.
We can check the connections with the moniter for the Tower and then install the cd.

Monitor keeps saying self test everything working check plugs

The self test thinks nothing is connected to it
it might be the cable or the input circuit.
not an easy issue to verify if you only have one input.
most often its is the internal board with a failed input circuit.
you can only open the unit and test the vga cable continuity.
as most have a 1 year warranty you might want to check on yours.
