I have a Mac and I manage my Zen Stone through iTunes and sometimes it doesn't always do what I want it to like clearing it completely and not erasing everything, etc. Is there a program that I'm supposed to download or do these creative products just not work well with macs?
I still have the same problem, but nice little scam you got going here making people think they can get some free advice on fixing technical difficulties. Don't think your "professional opinion" over this minor detail is worth 1/3 of what I paid for the Zen Stone, but have a nice day.

Initially, it would be possible that the Zen Stone plus is infected with a virus and your PC's antivirus is preventing access to it. Have you tried a reformat of the Zen Stone plus and or a virus scan?
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi - I know this response is way late to help you, but I was having the same problem. I could turn the zen on fine, but as soon as I tried to play music it would freeze and I couldn't turn it off. Using the reset button didn't help any since it would still freeze if I tried to play anything.
But I found reformatting the entire zen totally fixed it.
-directions- Connect your zen to your computer, go to windows explorer, click computer on the side bar, and your zen should be under "portable devices". Click on it. You should now be viewing the "storage media". Right click and select "Format...". This completely resets the zen, clearing any preferences or media you put on it and the freezing problem.
It was annoying putting all the pictures, videos, and itunes back onto my zen, but at least it works now. Since I've reformatted it, I have had no problems.
Hopefully this helps others who experience this problem. --Lillian
