Try using Scandisk or CheckDisk on your Hardisk or any software that will surface scan your hardisk, maybe you got BadSector on your Drive.

I turn on my dell mini 10 and it displays disk read error what to do

This error comes becasue your system HDD might have developed some bad sectors or clusturs.
Run windows disk scan and defragmentasion.
If your system is branded then go to system setup and run HDD diaganostic tool if it fails then it is time to replace your HDD.

Compaq armada sb nc 1000 problem

Common with old compaq Laptops, when the HDD Fails generally it takes time to get into BIOS ( may be not ), Problem, stumps down to NO HDD , try to check the HDD Bay , check for the noice from HDD..you can do DOS boot (win98) from CD or Floppy and do FDISK...if it shows HDD , not much to worry it not ....finally you may need to replace the HDD.

Hope ti helps....Keep the hope :)

HDD password for Gateway (model 3018GZ)

This is a protection feature on the system and i'm guessing one of the users on this system set it up - intentionally or accidentally. Best resolution to this (apart from replaceing the Hard drive) is to contact the vendor of the product and get the master password for the system.

Hard disk problem

Change the other HDD to either Cable Select or SLAVE.

Then make sure you partition it correctly, Windows does a decent job at it.

Right click on My Computer, go to Manage, then under storage, click on Disk Management; you should see the HDD here.
