R reg Megane Scenic non start

Hi,
Got a Megane Scenic 1.6 mpi manual, engine cranks but won't fire. No noid signal at injectors, no sparks, got ok resistance at rpm sensor & continuity to ecu from sensor and from injectors. Immobiliser light goes out. MODIS code reader shows no fault codes but says i've only got 8 volts and no fuel pump running. Car hasn't ran for some time & has had front end repairs. Found fuses missing from box at n/s/f wing and there is only one (brown) relay in there but space and terminals for another. Earths on o/s of engine seem ok & tight. Any suggestions??

I have a 2003 1.6 Scenic Megane that has recently been losing power while I'm driving. Have to pull over and turn motor off then start sometimes have to so this many times. The electrical fault light was coming on but when I took it to mechanic he put diagnostic tool on but no fault code showed up. This happened on and off for months now there is no electrical fault light coming on but there is sometimes no power when driving and it has just started to not turn over every time I start the car it takes several tries before the engine starts up. Can anyone help?

Sounds like your taking too long to put the key in the Ignition and turning. If this happens, just press the button on ignition key to lock the door then press again to unlock then put key into ignition and turn to start! If this doesn't work then it might be something more serious than that!

Hi

Well, no noid signal and no spark says to me that the crank sensor is at fault.

Does the check engine light come on when you turn on the igntion? If not then the ECU is not waking up.

Regards

Geordie

you said pulse, does that mean fuel pulse or electronic pulse to injector coil..... ? all injectors dead. or just 1. same for spark.
toss coin land, noid dead. all noids

1987 cheverolet camaro will not start. Replaced a but load of parts...good spark , computer is new and working , fuel pump is new and working , distributor new and working , throttle position sensor new...

I think I would be looking at the crank angle sensor and/or the cam sensors on this vehicle. It seems to me the engine isn't getting the signal to fire up.What happens when you squirt some fuel into the combustion chamber ? If it fires up I would be looking at cleaning the injectors. If it doesn't fire up What's the pressure on the fuel rail. does it have a buy pass pressure valve on the rail. Some suggestions good luck

Gas injector spray gas all time cylinder 2 and 5 when you open ignition

92 kick. (there is no cylinder 5, sorry) it's a 4 banger. all are. that year.
must be the G16b engine. 16valve MPI engine, 1.6Liters.
open ignition?
on this car, the injectors fire about 3 to 5 milliseconds at idle.
3/1000'th of a second, only.
if they stick on, that is caused by the following
why not connect a NOID lamp to each feed wire to injector
and see what it is doing.??????
http://www.fixkick.com/INJECTORS/injectors.html#NOID
1: injector leaks.
2: fuel pressure way over 60psi and inject can hold it back.
3: ECU is stuck , bad injectors driver in ECU shorted.
in case 3 the noid lamp glows key on., steady.
4: the FSM stated injector balance test will fail.
5: the FSM stated injector leak down test fill fail.

these tests are the same for all MPI based engines.

http://www.fixkick.com/INJECTORS/injectors.html

connect noid,
key on,
the noid that glows, shows what ECU line is stuck low.
stuck low can be , bad wire or bad ECU, only.

if the noid test passes.
that is.
not stuck on
and as you crank the lamp flashes same on all 4 MPI harness connectors (injector feeds) then the electric side is good.
and the fuel side is bad.
if key on fuel pressure is near 30psi (see pump page same site)
then the injector is bad,
see link for pro $20 cleaning company.

2003 chevy won't start

Hi there:
You will have to pinpoint what the engine is missing... spark, fuel, compression.

All three of these are tested when the engine is being cranked over. There are two way of checking for fuel. Fuel pressure and fuel trigger. Both are very important and must be present for the engine to start. Fuel pressure is self explanatory. You just hook up the gage and see what the reading is. Fuel trigger is check with a noid light. The injector gets unplugged and the noid light gets plugged in to the injector clip. With the engine cranking over, this light must blink. This is the signal to the injectors from the computer. You can have all the fuel pressure in the world, but it wont matter if the injector is not pulsing gas into the cylinder like it should.

Compression tester, spark tester, fuel pressure gage and noid light are all accessible at your local auto store. All three tests play a very important part in diagnosing a no start condition. Be extremely careful when doing these tests.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

My Renault Megane Scenic S reg heater is not working

Most likely to be a faulty resistor block, which has 3 resistors and a thermal fuse controlling fan speeds 1,2 and 3, maximum speed 4 by-passes the resister block. It may also be poor electrical connections to the resistor block caused by overheating. Renault ask for approximately £350 to carry out repairs, a replacement resistor block will cost £50. If you decide to carry out the repairs yourself, be advised that if you are not competent to carry out such work you, could cause electrical damage or worse an electrical fire.

I have fire and fule I just replaced the spark plugs and redid the timeing and it still wont start what ellse can I do?

are the injectors opening? fuel pressure doesn't mean the injectors are delivering any fuel to the cylinders, does the system have any trouble codes? if u are not sure if the injectors are getting a signal buy a NOID tester from NAPA or a tool dealer like Snap-On, it is very easy to use, plug it onto the fuel injector connector and crank the engine, if the injectors are getting a signal the light will flash, it is kinda hard to see so do it in the evening, if the injectors are not working then check to see if the computer has power, if the computer checks ok then u may have an issue with the engine wiring harness, very common on this car. also make sure the timing belt is ok.
