Check to see if the vent might be blocked or if you can feel the fans blowing... there is a sensor that takes the temperature of this set. mitisubishi has had problems with this sensor. as a technician i have replace this sensor fairly inexpensively. .. most time under warrenty.

Have a Mitsubishi 52725 52" DLP The TV shuts off frequently. It tells you "the TV with shut off in 30 seconds". It seems warm but I have a fan in the rear to cool it down but sometimes it still...

does it give you the "airflow" message?
if so it needs a new thermal sensor by the lamp, known issue defective sensor..

if not, suspect bad capacitors
there are many bad caps across 3 board , all part of the chassis.
a repair center will ship the chassis into mits for rebuild, about 400 or 500 total bill

The projector is starting up but after warming up it shuts itself off. It is not the a problem with the filter, lamp seating or an overheating issue.

Does the lamp actually light up and project? If not, it's probably a dead bulb. Are there any flashing lights that might be displaying an error code? How dow you know it's not overheating? Remove the filter and give it a good cleaning. Some projectors measure airflow and, even though the heat hasn't built up, the projector shuts down because it predicts overheating will occur due to insufficient airflow.

TV turns off because of air flow

It is probably a bad temp sensor inside the TV. My 73" started shutting down before it was a year old. I moved it way out from the wall and it got a little better. A tech was just out to change the bulb under an extended warranty and he said there is a service bulletin about the temp sensor. If your TV is out of warranty you might call Mits and see if they will cover the sensor replacement. Tech said it takes about a 1/2 hour in the home to change it...

Good Day, drdeath57;
Make sure your air vents are clean but more than likely you should suspect the TV's Lamp Thermal Sensor

Shut Down Message

The repair is to have the DLP engine replaced!!
FYI: The engine also can cause the set to shut down without any display or might even tell you the lamp door is open when it is not.

Turns off every so often

Well guys I found that if one just reads the manual you may find the solution...Mine seemed pretty simple - the room temperature was too warm! I adjusted the heat in the house, the yellow Status light went off and...it works again!
Thanks
