Memory card

After taking lots of pics my camera turned itself off and would not turn back on. After removing my 4gb sd card it works fine. Put card back in and it won't turn on again. Computer won't read card. Tried using a card recovery programme and it just shows card is full of bad sectors. Had a similar problem (using a different card) a couple of months ago when camera gave the message that some files were unreadable and would not let me view files but I was able to open them on computer. Please help as I have some treasured pics on this card.
