I have a Dell Vostro 400 and two video cards. Only one card will work and it is an Nvidia GeForce FX 5200.The other one is an ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO. These are the specs from the two graphics cards:...

you cant join two different platform vga cards. simply because they have their own platform and have separate drivers, so they conflict each other thus causing one of them shut off or disable..

Have gforce4 ti video card NO PICTURE of any kind screen says no signal detected

The GeForce4 Ti has two rear ports. 1 HDMI and 1 VGA. Try plugging into each. Video signal should be sending out of one of the ports. If neither port is sending out signal than you'll need to trick the bios.
Suggest you remove the Gforce4 Ti AGP card from the MB so you can regain video display and change the settings within the bios. Once you have display, enter the bios menu. Do you have your manual? Enter bios menu by pressing the "Delete" key every 2 seconds until the bios menu loads. Open, Integrated Peripherals, see top of page 3-11. Set Primary Graphic's Adapter to: [AGP]. Than go to the top of page 3-10. Change the AGP Aperture Size to as low as possible or to: [Disabled] "preferred".
AGP 8x Support set to: [Enabled]. Save your settings and exit the bios. The system will restart. Press and hold the power on / off button until your system shuts off. Install your GeForce4 Ti AGP video card. Double check your video card! Some NVIDIA cards need external power above what the AGP slot can provides. Some use a power connector like the floppy drive uses. Other look just like a hard disk drive power connector: 4-pin Molex. If none is found don’t worry about it.

Cheers!

Problem with my geforce4 mx

Sounds to me like either the card is bad or you have a corrupt driver. If you remove the card will it start? then it is a bad card. If you uninstall driver either through safe mode (hold F8 at powerup before windows starts) or restore to last known working config (also F8). I suggest you go to nvidia website to download your drivers. let me know if you are still stuck, we'll work it out.

Screen goes blank after installing card

You're video settings will be within Advanced Settings. You're manual does not show any bios menu's. I'm sure the heading Advanced will be listed at the top of one of you're menu's. You may not be able to disabe you're onboard display but you will be able to change display order & that is what you want to do. If you're system still just sits there. Power off the PC & unplug the power cord. Remove the cmos/bios battery, (Use a flat tip screw driver to help you to pop it out). Wait about 15 seconds & pop it back in. Plug the power cord back in & power up you're system. Enter the bios & try again. Change the order of the video. Save & exit. Windows should load. Rather than installing you're current CD video software, go online & download the most current display software. Other software to install DirectX 9.0c found at microsoft.

GeForce4 MX 420 Video Card

First question: Are you sure you have a PCI card?
there are several points here:
Make sure you have the monitor connected to the correct output on your computer. (In this case to the output of the graphics card, not to your onboard output)
If you have a PCI card set bios to PCI
Setting it to AGP means the computer is looking for a graphics card in you AGP-slot on you motherboard.

I cannot help thinking, that you actually have a AGP card in a AGP slot and that you computer is not working on onboard, but on AGP. But you can check which graphics device is used, in display properties (right-click Desktop, Properties, Settings)

Please post some feedback
