Recording from Sky+

HI,

I have a Techwood AEDVDRS7 dvd recorder.

I have tried to record a film from the Sky+ planner but I keep getting the following message " Paused for no stable video! Please check the connection".

I have checked scart connection on both the sky box and dvd recorder and, have disconnected and reconnected the dvd recorder.

Any ideas please?

Thanks to GSAN and Guest for your comments.

I appreciate there may be anti copying in place but, I have copied from the planner successfully before. I can't figure out why I have only just started to get this particular message. If it was copyrighted would it not just state that?

Could be possible that Sky TV is right protected therefore making it hard or impossible to record.

It could be that Sky is starting to add the copy protection or just certain movies/shows from certain produers. To make sure it is not your cables or recorder causing the problem, record from your airwaves (rabbit ears, local TV from the antena) to see if the recorder records as it should. Ifit does, then contact the Sky service to see if they have any info...it could be that a technician needs to maintain their antena or re-align their hardware to get a stronger signal.

How do i connect dvd recorder to tv only receiving sky channels through skybox

If you have two scart sockets on your tv,then connect a scart from av1 on the dvd into the tv,then connect a scart from the sky box into av2 on the dvd, your recording channel on the dvd will be av2.
If you only have on socket on the tv,then connect a scart from av1 on the dvd into the sky box, your recording channel will be av1,connected like this you may have to turn off the sky to watch dvd`s.

Useless at setting up. No sound on playback. Blocked timer record

You won`t get round the scan without an aerial. You still can set a recording as long as you set the recording channel as av2.Make sure the scart lead is fully in on dvd and tv,this can lead to no pic but sound,or sound no pic

DVD-VR320 combo DVD player

I think its the dvd players internal settings that need to be adjusted. If there is a menu set the sky box to the connection it is plugged into. Although this might sound strange some units when you connect them up will play fine through that input but unless the settings of the player is adjusted iut will record a blank screen because its default setting for recording might not be either the connection method you are using or the input you are using. I hope this makes sense.

Watching another channel while recording

Hi there! Sorry but you can't unless you have My Sky/HD recorder. The sky decoder is simply a one channel watch decoder. You can only record a sky channel and watch the channels normally provided via your VHF and UHF aerials connected to the decoder or vice versa.
My Sky fixes that although you cannot record to a dvd disc on this thing and the privilege comes at a price of course!

Not recording a full film

1. Insert disc.
2. Press "DVD" button on remote.
3. Press "REC MODE/REC SPEED" button.
4. Keep pressing until desired recording speed.

I believe your problem is that the movie exceeds the 120 minute limit on the target disc at the default recording speed (SP). Try LP instead.
