Dishwasher seems to b stuck on drain cycle

Hi my dishwasher is 3 years old never had a problem until now. I loaded the dishwasher switched it on and it was making a sucking/glugging noise as if it was trying to drain although there was no water in the bottom. I wondered if there was a blockage further down and poured a few pans of water in which disappeared immediately but then it carried on making this sound. Our model only has 5 buttons - on/off switch and 3 programmes and rinse only so I don't know if it has stopped midcycle although the previous time I used it earlier in the day I didn't notice any probs. thanks for any advice before I have to call the repairman - by the way I'm no DIYer!

At first the dishwasher drain seemed blocked and I used a suction plunger and then it started draining, even with all dials 'off'. It only stops draining when I unplug it! If I try any setting it just keeps the drain motor running and does not try to fill up again.

I have a Favorit 6150 with the same problem. Even with all buttons off it still seems to be stuck on wanting to drain. Any solution will be appreciated.

HI our Indesit IDE 750 dishwasher gets stuck on the first cycle and the timer doesn't count down. Switching it off and restarting drains the water, but it gets stuck at the same point in the cycle

This sounds like a heating element issue, If the water doesn't get warm it just keeps trying to heat but won't advance past this point until it has reached a set temperature. You dishwasher may or may not be fitted with a thermal overload that may have tripped, Unplug the dishwasher, Remove the lower kick panel and look for a small circular metal sensor with 2 or 3 wires on it attached to the basepan of the dishwasher, Check to see if it has a red button in the middle and if it's there push it then re-assemble and try again, otherwise it's a visit from the serviceman unfortunately.

Have same problem with 2 second cycling. I resolder at the point of heater relay. Thought I had solved the problem of running forever on 1. Now have this "new" problem that you have described.

Bosch sgv53e13gb Integrated dishwasher - wont start a new cycle!?

Hi,
As the machine is only two weeks old I would go straight back to the seller and report the fault to them - and take a copy in writing. Don't be fobbed off with any instructions to get in touch with the makers - your contract is with the seller and it is up to them to fix it! And if you mention compensation for the inconvenience caused by this defective product, it might help speed things up.

Hope this helps! D.

Whirlpool GU980SCGQO not draining and I'm expecting 27 dinner guests Sunday

Ok, there are a couple of things it could be. The pump motor could be stuck, which is the most likely. Remove the bottom panel and look underneath. Spin the impeller until it spins freely, then try to start the dishwasher. Make sure the door is open before you do this, so that the impeller doesn't run while your hand is in it =)

Also, check the drain hose for a check valve. Sometimes these get stuck in the wrong position and it won't drain well. If none of these work, let me know and I'll help you further.

Neff S5555 - empties water but stuck in draining mode.

if this machine uses an electrical-mechanical timer with cam switches, the try oiling the shaft bushings both for the timer motor and cams-the timer may be getting stuck because of dry or corroded bushings
