Sounds like the magnetron has charred and is now shorting.

You could try cleaning it, but a replacement is safer in the long term.

My 4yr old NN-S262SF OTR runs for 2secs and stops whenever start

Hello

Microwaves use alot of power and should be on their own 20amp circuit. Get an electrician to put the microwave on its own circuit.

Microwave Oven has died

Hi.
Check continuity of this 10A fuse to see if it's blown.

What is most likely to have happened, is that an internal short has happened inside the main transformer. These cannot be rectified, and often means scrapping the complete item due to cost of replacement.
However - if you can find another microwave with a different fault - just remove the good transformer.

Checking the transformer for a short at high voltage is not recommended.
You could try a spare 10A fuse as a start point (probably a leaded type) - but expect it to blow again. DON'T go higher or omit !

Panasonic NNA554W blows 10a fuse when microwave comes on

Possibly the interlock monitor switch is bad or out of adjustment. This switch is designed to create a short circuit across the power line (and then blow the fuse) if you attempt to defeat the door interlock and operate the oven with the door open. A shorted capacitor or diode could also cause the fuse to blow. Because of lethal voltages inside and the possibility of microwave leakage if repairs aren't done correctly, you are best off leaving microwave service to professionals.

NE1856 Microwave

error 81 message is usually a fault in a relay....found on the LV transformer located beneath the noise filter....(noise filter is a ciarcuit board mounted to one side, should see 2x 10a fuses on it and a small 1.25A)...underneath, a circuit board...thats the lv transformer assy.
Check the 10A fuses first....if they are ok, change the entire transfromer assy.....easy enough to do, the part number is A692M3310GP

Hope this helps

Panasonic NN-S789WC - No power on Display, Fuse OK, bulb Lights

The fuse will be a white or gray ceramic fuse, and you really can't tell if it's blown without actually measuring it. If a new fuse blows when you hit START, you probably have a shorted high voltage capacitor. If you have replaced the fuse and still have no display, then it sounds like there's a problem on the control board. The control board has a built-in surge protector which can short (and smoke) and when it does, it will cut the power to the control board, but not blow the fuse. We repair these nationwide for only $39.95 postpaid. If you or a friend want to check it out or send the control unit in for serivce, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
