Question about Brother MFC 7420 All-In-One Laser Printer

1 Answer

Brother Printer won't accept mostly full toner cartridge

I have 2 MFC 7420 printers. I had just put a new toner in at my work, when I learned the one at home had run out. I pulled out the drum and toner cartridge from the office and put it in the one at home and it keeps telling me "TONER LIFE END."

I have shaken it, run the blue thing on the drum back and forth, and turned the machine on and off a couple of times but have had no luck getting it to accept it.

Can anyone help?

i just change my cartridge for MFC 7420 printer, the manual says to clean the primary wire inside the drum unit by sliding the blue tab from right to left and left to right several times, return the tab to the home position, then put the drum unit back into machine. I did that exactly that was advised and keep receiving an error message that i need use the blue tab from right to left.... i repeated that probably 6 times and still receiving same error message,
    Can somebody help?

I have the same problem.Nearly new genuine cartridge is giving me "Tonner life end" message. I have tried to block sensors but have no luck. Also instaled newest firware upgrade .It looks to me Brother is at fault here.Perhaps they should revice the firmware and disable toner detection so the printer prints untill toner runs out.

On the side of the cartridge (TN2000) there is a white reset flag, this need to set to twevle 'o' clock, thats towards the black roller. If that hasn't been reset the cartridge will register as low.

My Brother MFC-7420 still shows "Toner Low" as always and I cannot use the scan tool. Please help me as quickly as you can. Thanks

1) Pull out the cartridge and look on the right side of the it. You will see a small hole that has a glass like window in side (round window).

2) Turn off MFC-7420

3) Cover the hole on cartridge with a duct or a piece of paper. Basically block.

4) Replace the cartride back in the printer and turn on the printer.

5) The message should be gone and you should be able to use the copier functionality.

It worked perfectly.

What an unethical practice Brother is following? They want us to spend more money buying their cartridge unnecessarily.....

Everything is printing black n dirty

Most likely cause is a bad toner cartridge. It's likely dumping excessive toner inside the printer. try taking the toner out and hold it sideways and tap it, if toner falls out then your cartridge is defective. try vacuuming the printer and wipe it clean with a dry cloth and and replace the toner with a new one.

Keep getting Toner Life End Message even after replacing with brand new cartridge. I'm sure it is installed correctly. The Brother 7420 machine won't recognise the new cartridge(TN2025).

Open front cover and hit "Options" button, you should see a prompt to "Change Drum". Don't hit 1 for yes or 2 for no. hit the "Start" button and then put in the number 11. You should see the word "Accepted" in the window. Close front cover and you should be all set.

all brother printers and mfc products. if you are using generic tonere or refills, brother products will not recognize the toner cartridge as the refillers do not know how to reset the toner cart. this is priority info. therefor u must use brother oem service rep

Brother MFC-7420: Toner low - massege. But catridge is full.

The magic word is "refilled." Not all refilled cartridges work correctly. Try another cartridge (a new one to be absolutely sure) to verify the printer is working properly. But my money would be on "defective refill."
