Question about Acer TravelMate 4150LCi Notebook

2 Answers

Travelmate 4050NLCI I have windows xp professional loaded, the drivers if vga is giving problem i guess, previously it was some other version , i tried fixing up that by loading other drivers from the net, but now the resolution can be set to only 800 * 600 - but the problem cannot be solved. the problem what I am facing is like when i go to dos prompt mode it gives blue screen and reboots, sometimes it works for 2-3 attempts, sometimes it gives error when coming back from dos mode to windows mode. but this doesnot happen in safe mode. Have also formatted the hdd 3-4 times but e'time it gives the same problem.

i have tried replacing 5 different types of rams, as for rams there is another problem, the laptop has 2 slots when i insert rams on both slots to make it 512 the machine would either not boot or just keep on rebooting the same way as it does in going into dos prompt. but if we insert either of rams in either of slots like just 1 256 mb ram card into any of the slots it works fine, but gives that dos problem. it works fine when worked in windows environment, like never reboots or gives blue screen. now with the same ram and same config and same os, it works fine in safe mode environment. so i thought it might be to do something with vga controller only. i also tried applying heat sink paste on the processor thinking if the processor is heating up, also tried swaping another cpu fan. I could do all these cause i myself deal into laptop spares.

i tried doing that, like in normal mode i tried removing the intel extreme graphics from add remove module, now its giving me like new hardware found and i am ignoring that new hardware found and by doing that i have tried switching over from dos to windows for about 10-15 times, it is working fine absolutely with no problem, but then vga driver is not loaded. so i need help over the vga driver now.

How can I change the resolution from 1280 x 800? This is the highest possible according to the display setttings. I have removed the generic pNp monitor. I am running Vista Business. The display adapter is...

Graphics Unable to use the native resolution, such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050 and 1440x900 circuit388.gif Symptom(s):
On some displays, users may be unable to use the native resolution when using Intel® chipset graphics. Resolutions such as 1920x1080, 1680x1050, and 1440x900 are not available in graphics properties.

Cause:
The display's EDID is not read properly when connected to some digital flat panel displays. Display devices describe its capabilities by sending EDID (Extended Display Information Data) to the computer.

Solution:
Intel has released a graphics driver to specifically address this issue; however, there may be side effects to this solution such as longer than normal resume times from standby. This solution will only work with external displays such as DFP displays connected to the computer's VGA port. This driver is not designed to address issues with a notebook's built-in display (Local Flat Panel) or with TV’s connected to the system. This driver is provided as is. Intel has not tested, and does not guarantee, the operation of the driver for this purpose.

Audio downloads for aspire 4720z

I would like to know what sound card you have. You can try this, though -> http://laptopsnotebooksdrivers.com/download-acer-travelmate-6592g-notebook-realtek-audio-driver-v5423-for-windows-xp-9990.html

Don't mind that it says that it's for the acer travelmate. If it doesn't work, I will need to know which sound card you have.

HP Pavilion DV1000 drivers...

I found the problem to be a rather simple but frustrating one....when is an HP dv1000 not a dv1000....almost always!! You cannot get the correct downloads based on the model number on the tag. You must specify the PRODUCT NUMBER on the HP download site from the tag, not model. You can enter the general DV1000 and get to the download page and look for the entry "Not your Product?!" Follow that link and enter the PN from the tag....download those and you will get drivers that work with your unit. My "DV1000" was actually a DV1660!!!!
