my sansa clip turned off when i was turning to the japan radio station. and never turned back on. even when i hooked it up to the computer. what can i do to fix if.

  • harley_petit Jan 25, 2009

timothyas, You really didn't give a solution as to how to fix this. I have the same problem; it will recharge like normal, but won't work, and turns off IMMEDIATELY when I pull it off the USB.

i have the same problem. At first i usually had to plug it in and it would work for awhile. But i let a friend listen to it at school for a short amount of time but then he said it shut off on him. So now when i plugit in with the usb cord its connected but when i take it out it shuts off as soon as this action is occured. What do you think is wrong with my sansa and what should I do?

Yu charge it erveryday, and yuve been using it everyday, so that means that it needs to charge, if it says connected tocomp and charging that means that it needs more electricity in its battery to keep, its battery running.

Hai, i have sansa clip 2gb with the same problem. one ultimate answer i got is Sansa clip uses Media Transfer Protocol(MTP). Sandisk(maker of salsa clip) know about the problem which cannot be solved(the earlier sansa products are to be avoided). There is no solution with the company.

Plug your device into computer and let it about 30 minutes to 1 hour.
Then, unplug and turn it on.
If it doesn't work, you should change another one.

Sansa 2gb clip

While the player is connected to the computer, you will not be able to go through the menu, play music, etc. Only after you have disconnected it from the PC will it work.

when you plug it in to the usb cord charger, and then plug it out, it turns because it maybe does not have enough energy to keep it running to your standard. so, when plugging it into the computer, if charging, leave it plugged in, and too find out the amount of energy left in it, go to start, then my computer, left click on where it says sansa clip 2GB, and click propoerties, and it will state the amount of percent charged, then thats tell s you to keep it in longer

Sansa clip mp3 player 2GB shows as UNKNOWN DEVICE when i connect

Sandisk website will have it, and will have the vista compatible software:
http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/Default.aspx?CatID=1376

here is the link for the sansa updater.

Ok...here is something you might want to do....I know you already formatted your device a zillion times already but please do it one more time using the Format option under Settings menu in your device....then restart your computer....then plug in your computer again after restarting to see if it recognizes now.....if not...here is one thing you could do....go to this link

http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

download the USBDeView software and see if the registry has the player in there....select it and delete it and then plug in your PC again to see if it will re-register the device and works...hope this will help.

Sansa clip 2gb

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
