Yes I have seen this problem before. The IR sensor is located on the button input board(The one that has the buttons on the front panel). Replacing the board should resolve the issue, but I am not sure if you can find one considering the fact that this set is rather old.
No sorry I do not have the part number for this model. You can find the part number on the board itself.
Are you looking at the board attached to the front panel controls? I mean the PCB. If so can you get me an image of the board? It is impossible for a tv to get the commands from the remote without a sensor. Isn't it?
Insult you? No my friend. I am just trying to make you realize what the problem is. I just told you that tv cannot accept commands from the remote without the remote sensor. Sorry if you were offended. Anyways, do you see any kind of label on the image? If not, do you see a number or something? If yes then get me whatever is on it. Also I was just thinking, is this a universal remote? Coz you said all other electronics are working, Was this a remote that was previously working with the set? Or is it a new remote?

Hey thanks for help .. Would you know the part number ?
Took panel off and got numbers off of it.. But I didnt see anything resembling a sensor of any type.. Now Im just asking, but do you think you may be mistaking for different model?
Yes! Im looking at the board attached to the front panel controls, and yes! Im sure it is impossible for the TV to get commands from the remote without a sensor! Hence my problem remember? I can get you a picture of the board but how about not trying to insult me next time..
