There is a reset water level function on the front panel. To alter the water level each time you need to reset your water level . Ours used to do the same thing before my wife realized she was over filling it.

Is there a way to increase the water level on a whirlpool front load Duet washer model GHW-9150

If the machine is underfilling, check the water level switch. This diaphragm like device has a small clear plastic tube attached between the switch and the bottom of the washer's outer tub. As the water level increases, so does the pressure on the air in the tube and when it reaches a certain level, it activates the switch to shut off the water and signals the timer to advance to the appropriate cycle. Make sure the plastic tube has no damage or obstruction. An obstruction can cause the switch to be activated too early. The switch can be tested for continuity using a multimeter or ohmmeter. A lack of continuity would indicate a faulty switch. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Hi..

If you washer is noisy,

  • Check that the water supply valves are turned on
  • Inspect the filter screen
  • Test for overheating
  • Inspect the water pump
  • Test the water inlet valve
  • Test the motor

General tips
  • Balance the load
  • Level the machine
  • Inspect the water pump for a blockage
  • Inspect the coupling
  • Inspect the transmission
  • Adjust the drive belt tension
  • Check the motor bearings
  • Check the drum brakes

Good luck !!!

Whirlpool Duet GHW9400 Water Level Seems Too Low

Scott,
Believe me, if the water level were ever several inches above the glass, you'd know about it 'cause it would flood your laundry room. Seriously. See? That rubber door boot/seal is not water tight (like a submarine) when the door is closed and locked, it's water "resistant".

Front loaders often appear as though the level is low, but they are designed this way. The clothing actually tumbles through the water as opposed to soaking in water like a top loader.

All of that to say that you have nothing to be concerned about. Your water level is fine.

SG

p.s. If your water level switch had failed, as you suspected, the water level would be too high and leak out the door.

Whirlpool washine machine #AWM 3082 - door wont open

Try to unplug the unit for five minutes, then plug back in. Try to start a load, as soon as the door locks agian, hit cancel. That will sometimes let you get back in. Im not sure if this is a top loader or front loader, but there is a way (if its a front loader) to remove the bottom front kick plate, then you have to reach up the inside to the door latch assm, on the bottom of that is a small round handle, pull it straight down, and the door will unlock. If its a top loader (i.e. Cabrio, Oasis, Etc), you can open the top only by unclipping the top from the base. You can do this by putting a putty knife in between the top and cabinet, then finding the clips, pushing them in and lfting, you can get your stuff out that way.

My washer doesn't get enough water in it to wash properally. There isn't a water level knob on the washer. Its a frontloading whirlpool.

There is most likely nothing wrong with the washer. Front load washers will only fill about 2 inches of water in the tub. As the load starts to tumble, water is absorbed into the clothes, causing the water level to drop. The machine senses this and adds more water. The process continues until the water level stabilizes. (thus no need for a water level switch) Your clothes should get wet, but you will little if any water. If you use a gentle cycle you will get slightly more water, as the washers tumble at the same speed for all cycles, but give a more gentile wash if there is more water in the drum.
Also,..... remember because you have so little water in a front load washer (compared to most all top loader models) you want to use only 1 to 2 (max) tablespoons of HE detergent per load!

Your pressure switch controls the water level.

Is this machine new to you? or ?

Front loader use less water. the water level will be close to the bottom of the door.

Let me know if you have any more questions.,
