Samsung 52" tv

When we turn it on, it makes a little noise, then nothing happens. this happen a few weeka ago, after a electical storm and we just unplugged it and plugged it back in. it worked. we have tried that. and nothing. it appears that it got wet right above where the cord goes into the back of the tv. (either the kids or cat)

the tv is a hd ready rear projection. about 6 or 7 years old. i am not sure that the product model number is correct. the manual has 7 #'s.

HEY,

Electrical storm, water and the TV does not work?

Well I'm here to give you help......

First find the source of water and fix that. I don't think there is any thing you can do but call a Samsung factory authorized dealer and have them give you an estimate.

The TV you own is selling for under $900.00, so be careful, it may not be worth repairing.

You could possibly have damaged the deflection power supply that part is not to expensive if you can find a reputable shop they should be able fix you up pretty cheap as opposed to a new. if the set had a good picture get it fixed its a good set

Samsung Tantus Model 553W HDTV1080i, when you turn the tv it just has a black screen and makes a clicking noise like it is turning on and off

Samsung has had a issue with several models, with power supply going out. The clicking noise is what lets you know it is the power supply, it is teying to cut on but has not power from the board so it cuts off. I would call Samsung and see if your model happens to be listed as the models they are covering the power supply for, your exact model number is HCM553WX. If that model is not on the list of covered models, you can ask Samsung what to do, because parts for your tv are no longer available. Hope this helps. You can reach Samsung at 1-800-726-7864

when the timer light is turn ON, tv is telling you that lamp will be going out soon, is basically a hour meter, it just reach the limit of hours that tv haves program of use for a lamp and that you can reseted by:
1.- taking the lamp out nad in again, that way tv will detect there is a new lamp. If not.
2.- folow the instructions: http://www.fixyourdlp.com/blog/2007/02/15/resetting-your-samsung-dlp-lamp-hour-meter-counter/

Wont turn on!

I work on these at the shop alot(THERE THE TESTAMONAL FOR THESE SET LOL) ok these sets itc222 chasis from rca have a processor that shuts them down for one of 25 different resons. THe sound you describe indicates to me a few possibilities. the first thing i would check if i had it in the shop would be what is known as the flyback and the horizontal output transistor. if you are a tech. these set can generate pot high voltages so be careful. there is some times i have seen loose ribbion cables but that is rare

Power outage / TV won't come on.

Call the manufacture tech support and ask them for their rep in your area. If it is possible for them to reset your TV I am sure that they will.

From your description, most of the time there is damage to the power supply, or one of the areas in the set.

TV will not turn on

There are a few reasons that this could be happening first one is maybe the lamp died on you, Afraid there is no way to test this other than replacing the lamp. The second problem may be 5 capacitors on the power supply that hold the 12 volt line low and do not allow the light engine to start properly.
First thing you have to do is listen to how it trys to start, It should sound like this, first when you hit the power switch there may be a click then within five seconds the fans then a few seconds more you may here a sparking noise, if all this is happening then you most likely just have a bad lamp
