Question about Refrigerators
I have a Kenmore top mount refrigerator (model # 106.69862990) Yesterday morning I noticed that it didn't seem as cold as usual. The food and drinks in the frige weren't warm, but they weren't as cold as they usually are and everything had condensation on it. I turned the temp. up to the next level and vaccumed the condenser coils. I also checked to make sure that the door was closing properly, and it is fine. I haven't heard the refrigerator cycle kick on. The freezer is fine. All of the food is still frozen and when I open the door I can hear it running. There is still no change 24 hours after changing the temp. to a colder setting. Any suggestions?
Condensation only ever happens if the door is left open for a long period. - The warm ambient air condenses on anything cold - like the food in there.
Because of convection, the door need only be open 1/4" to be affected. Quite often a bag pushes the door open a little.
Check all door seals for splits - clean them.
Make sure nothing is touching the back cooling plate, and it should be fine from there.
Hope this helps.
