Asko D1716 dishwasher problem

Hello,

This just started two days ago... Water is not getting into the dishwasher... I think it could be the water inlet valve... Any ideas?... Do you know the best way to get access to the valve?...

Thanks!

I also have an Asko D1716 dishwasher. The water stopped flowing. I replaced the water inlet valve and I have another problem, but the replacement of the fill valve is now letting in water. You can call Asko at 1-800-898-1879 to order the parts. If you order from Asko, I'm told you have some warranty on the parts. Anyway, the screws take a star drive and there is a front plate and back plate you will need to remove. There are approx. 4 screws on the front and 4 screws on the back. Just remember to unplug it before starting any work. The fill valve is in front of the machine. There are 2 screws holding it in place from the front. You will need to remove it out the back though to replace it since the fill tube to the tub is short and it wont allow you to pull it out the front. The repair is really easy once you get started.

Hope this helps,

Hello, our dishwasher doesn't clean well the dishes anymore. Could I add something to make it work better. I have tried several detergents and there is not difference. Thanks

Have you cleaned the filter ? check to make sure there is enough water in the dishwasher (open the dishwasher when it washing water should be just below the heater)

There is loud rumbling noise as the water fills the machine. What is up with this? Is it the water valve or something else?

Hello,

Based on your description I`d certainly think it is an inlet/water valve. It sound`s like the valve may be creating "water hammer" which can happen if it is failing.

If you go to an on-line part vendor such as repairclinic.com you`ll find a replacement valve if you enter you model number. Most Asko dishwasher`s use the number repairclinic refer to as #1467828.

Hope that answers your question. Thank you for visiting "fixya" today.

No water running through on start up

it won't fill unless the door is closed & locked.

Check your inlet supply valve (mine is in the basement 10 feet away from the dw)

Asko D1716 won't start

Ensure the water is turned on and the door is fully closed, make sure delay start is not set.....

if DW still won't start, I would begin by checking the door switch.

This link will download the owners manual for your unit. Click here
to download the manual.

Hope this helps.

Dishwasher flooding

When you say that you tried other solutions.. it's hard to know which you've tried and which you haven't so I will suggest some basics first.. ( if you've tried them, then disregard)...
Have you checked or addressed the following:
  1. Cleaned the drain filter
  2. Checked the drain hose for crimps or restrictions
  3. Sure the drain system ( such as your feed thru the garbage disposal isn't clogged or restricting flow)
  4. Checked your water pump for an obstruction or you can determinbe if it is actually pumping
  5. The feed and returm hose ..to anf from the pump are not clogged, pinched or restricting flow.
These are the basics that you should have examined or confirmed aren't causing the problems you are seeing. One other as well.. are you sure your water inlet valve is completely shutting water from leaking in and over-filling the system? Check these items and you should be able to diagnose where the problem is.. Hope this helps you,

The sound is the drain Pump I believe ,it turns on to make sure the unit is clear of problem so it can re cycle and start again.
