Question about Video Game Consoles
If you are using the "XBOX" cable, take a look at the ends. You will see that the wiring sequence is different. On one it is, orange/white-orange-green/white-blue-blue/white-green and the other is green/white-green-gorange/white-blue-blue/white-gorange.
That is a crossover cable. Go to the computer store and get a straight through cable. I am unsure if original XBOX had DHCP capabilities. If it does... great. If not, you will have to give it an IP address/subnet mask/gateway/dns manually. It is easier to hook your PC and XBOX up to a router, copy all the settings from your PC network settings and give it an ip of like 192.168.0.200 or something high up. Only change the last set of number and keep the rest identical to whatever your PC gets from your router.
The "XBOX" crossover cable is used for XBOX to XBOX gaming.
