Hello In control panel.Go to sound .Once there open your speaker properties then go to level tab.To the right is a list.Scroll down to mic and turn it up. Then go to recording properties.Custom tab.Check box for 20db boost. Mic should work now.
That can either be a software or hardware problem. Please check BIOS and Sound card drivers to see if the front Headphone and mic jack are enabled. (right click computer ->properties-> device manager) or start programs -> realtek (depending on sound card)
Was it ever working before and do the plug in the back work for your computer?
Hi doug810, if your sound is working your mic is most likely working too. It just needs setup. Open control panel. Than open the Sounds and audio devices icon. Click on the Voice tab in the properties window. Click the test hardware button & follow the on-screen prompts. (Win XP systems).
well the ports on the card could be shot and the card might have been installed by a person with a static charge built on thier hands without them knowing, which can cause the card's electronics to fry and be ALMOST completely disabled. try using a different mic or taking the card out and re-installing it.
Ok this could either be simple or complicated depending on what the actual problem is. Firstly if you have a sound icon on your windows taskbar (Bottom right beside the clock) double click it
It will open the Volume control.
Top left of this window, click on options and then click properties. look at the list below and make sure the microphone is checked, if its not then check it.
Now look at the volume control window and make sure that your microphone isnt muted, just uncheck the mute button set the volume half way and you are done.
If you dont have the sound icon on your taskbar, goto start then control panel, click on Sounds and Audio devices, Note if you dont see this then on the left hand side click on the classic view to show all control panel options.
Click on the volume tab, click advanced and then do the steps above to enable the mic
Then click on the audio tab Look down to where it says Sound recording and make sure it has a default device in there. that should fix the problem.
Now if you do this and you dont have a default device or no sound card then let me know and we will get the problem solved
to put that in cam microphone working, you need to see on audio settings properties and change the "recording device" to usb audio device, instaid of the soundcard as is. That means that the sound recording will be from the cam's microphone. The steps are: 1- rigth mouse click on the speaker next to the clock OPEN VOLUME CONTROL 2- OPTIONS - PROPERTIES - RECORDING 3 - in MIXER/RECORDING DEVICE (where is your soundcard's name) change to USB AUDIO DEVICE and then OK 4- In the remaining volume control window, select MICROPHONE and then close all the volume control windows 5- you can test the mic settings in messenger (any version) because of volume and to a clearest voice sound in your pc.
ATTENTION: carefull with the distance between your cam and your sound speakers because of distorcing sound and feedback
