If you determine that it is the water level switch,
by Lumpy's tests,
A fourth test, is to ensure that the plastic hose is connected at both ends between the water level sensor body and the base of the drum.

It is usually not neccessary to replace the water level switch.
Kenmore pressure switches are adjustable, the adjustment is hidden.
An internal spring stretches over time and does not react properly.
to test whether just the adjustment is required,

  1. remove the water level knob from the front side of console
  2. depress the lock tab at the right side of water level sensor body where it contacts the back side of the console and rotate counter clockwise 45degrees
  3. withdraw water level sensor body
  4. adjacent to shaft for the knob is 1/8inch bolt head, turn clockwise to raise, counter clockwise to lower water level.
  5. washer can be operated with the console open and the level body removed
  6. test, adjust, test adjust.
  7. if no effect replace water level sensor body

Continious filling is usually 1 of 3 problems. 1 - a bad water level switch. or 2 - a bad water valve or 3 - your drain hose is pushed too far down into the wall (it should only go in about 6 " so it doesn't siphon the water right back out). The easiest way to tell which it is is to start filling the washer and then unplug it. If the water continous to flow, bad valve. If it stops a bad water level switch. Kenmore have 3 main ways to get to the water level switch. 1 - there are 2 plastic caps on either end on the front of the console (the parts where all the knobs and dials are) Pop these off and there are 2 phillips screws underneath. 2 - On the back of the console where it meets the top of the machine are 2 phillips screws. 3 - there are 2 clips under the console. Insert a putty knife between the console and the top of the washer in the front to pop the clips.

The hose that pushes out the water has to be above a certain point ,or your water will keep running and emptying. I put my hose up to the tub level and presto..problem solved.

1. if the water is not flooding the floor, then you have a drain hose siphoning problem. raise or loop the drain hose up in the back of the machine higher than the highest water level of the machine.

2. if water is flooding the floor and the only way to stop it is to shut it off at the fawcet then the water valve is bad and needs replacing

OVERFILLED AND FLOODED HOUSE

1 of two problems happened.
1) either the water level sensor went bad. Which tells the water inlet valve when to shut off and the machine to start operating.
2) The water inlet valve has failed. This comes from the water hose and fills the washing machine.

Kenmore he2 wont fill with water

first off check your incoming water supply.. also make sure your not using stainless steel hoses manufactured withthe name "flood safe"" big issue with these hoses shutting off premature(they have a built in shut off check valvewithin the hose itself, .. replacethehoses if you have these. if not and you have good incoming water supply, soundslike yo may have a faulty inlet water valve.although usually onyl no hot or no cald the fact you haveno either water temp, thats odd

Ok, it sounds either your hose from the water level pressure switch has come off or broke, or the pressure switch itself is bad.

Check the pressure switch hose first.

My tubing came loose and I just duct taped it back on and it works perfectly.

You would need to open your console as shown here:
http://www.applianceblog.com/mainfor...ead.php?t=1081
Pull forward and up on the console and you can hinge it open and hanging from the hinges.

Here is your water level pressure switch:

Does the water stop when you push the timer in or are you having to shut the spigots off?? If it stops when the timer is pushed in then you have a problem with the pressure switch. There are quite a few tricks to axcessing your machine's components but if you are handy ill attemt to help.
