Question about Whirlpool Duet GHW9150P Front Load Washer

Whirlpool Duet Washer beeps and will not allow temp change

This Washer is less than 6 mo old. Machine worked fine a day or two ago. Now it will not allow any changes to the temp, rpms or anything else. It will allow you to choose Normal, Heavy, Bulky etc. and will run but it does a double beep the entire cycle. Is this a control board issue?

Norma,

It's likely that this is a control board issue. Luckily you are still within your warranty period. I'd recommend contacting Whirlpool about this.

You may also try "re-booting" the CPU by unplugging the washer for a few minutes then plugging it back in.

If you look under the washer and see rubber shavings your motor coupling went bad-not a part you should replace yourself or you can ruin the whole machine, the part only costs less than $5.00 though. That's all I remember from working Whirlpool Customer Service years ago.

My whirlpool duet washer stops towards the end of the cycle and flashes 6 then F. The door stays locked and the washer beeps. It has happened before, the machine is about 6 years old, how can I fix

F/06

Drive Motor Tachometer Error

The control is unable to properly detect motor speed and the machine will shut down. If a failure occurs during high-speed spin, the door will be unlocked after 3 minutes.

  • Check wire harness connections between the Drive Motor/Tachometer and the Motor Control Unit (MCU), and between the MCU and the Central Control Unit (CCU)
  • Check the Drive Motor
  • Check the MCU
  • Check the Wire Harness

Gurgling sound from Whirlpool Duet washer when not in use

Check your drain line. You may have a siphoning condition. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r587481-prevent_washer_siphoning

If you have the water source turned off, the only other way water gets into the washer is through the drainage system. If you do not have the proper air gap or placement on the drain line, it can create a vacuum and allow water to siphon back into the washer.

NOTE: Some residual water in the drain line is normal.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

I was told the bearing is shot on the Whirlpool Duet Washer and it is not worth repairing, the machine is only 6 year old, any advice?

a 6 year old washer should not be scrapped unless it is made in china, replacing a 5$ bearing is worth fixing. even if you need to buy a drum unit.

Whirlpool duet washer problem

Our machine was giving the HF code at 37 min after over filling with water. I unplugged the machine, popped the top (took the 3 torx screws off the back) pulled the small hose off the pressure switch sensor (round sensor on the upper back right of the machine) and blew it out just by mouth. It obviously cleared some junk. It works fine now. (also unplugged the 6 wires on the sensor, turned it around and blew on that and heard it clicking, so I knew that was ok.) Hope this helps someone.

Swede, you need to replace the water inlet valve. Part number 8181694. This is an easy fix. Just remove the 3 screws that are in back holding the top on. Slide the top back and you will see the valve. Couple of screws and a clamp and it will come right off. Catriver..post back.
