I was trying to say that Ive emptied the bean drawer and brushed it clean til I could see the grinder(and refilled it). Also that the grounds drawer is not full. I've unscrewed the little metal disc filter, cleaned it and put it back on.
I get steam but no water comes out of the coffee nozzles. the machine stops before that cycle. It has water and has been descaled.
It makes the grinding sound but doesn't do the pressing clik-clak sound that happens before the coffee is dispensed. Red light #29 will come on and the machine stops.

Also, as the grinder runs no beans move around and there doesn't appear to be any beans being ground up.
    Thanks for replying.

Will try the above instructions tonight. Didn't try to line up the arrows on the grinder and upper burr. I cleaned the channel from the grinder but will do it again (better this time). I'll also try resetting the outer ring since my unit is a couple years old and we use oily beans.

    Will post the results.

    Thanks so much !

I found out the problem with my machine. Light 29 and 30

Situation 1) Light 29 was on, 2) The fresh beans container was full. 3) The grounds container was empty. Yet the light stayed on and I could not brew. Why? Their is a sensor switch in the back wall of the unit. You can see it on the lower left side after you open the front door and pull out the grounds holder. This sensor is turned off or triggered by a piece of plastic sticking out of the grounds container. The problem was that the little plastic extension is not long enough or the fit is not good enough and it does not trigger the switch. I fixed it by finding a thin piece of metal that I taped onto the plastic extension. Voila, it now pushes the switch down and the light goes off. I can now brew coffeee.

I also had the same problem on the switch that is triggered in the upper right hand area by the main door when you shut it. The light for parts being aligned properly (#30) was on. Again I added a thin piece of metal of the same width the the plastic extension with tape. Again, the light went off and I could make coffee.

These are both design flaws as they should stick out further. I believe the problem is both length and firmness as the slight back pressure from the metal switch pushes back just enough on the plastic since there is some give on the door and grounds container that they can move back and up preventing enough pressure to trigger the switch.

Now if I can only figure out why I am not getting steam I will have solved all my problems.

Comment on oily beans - try not to use them. If you are looking for a stronger flavor coffee, an an extra shot to your drink. Oily beans cake inside the grinder, brew group + components and strains them potentiallu causing malfunctions.
Also dark beans are usually over roasted which makes the makes real coffee flavor lose. Espresso coffee beans should have very little to no oil and be unifrom in color.
Another approach if you are looking for stronger coffee flavor. use less water instead of more coffee. Two shots of 2 oz. espresso (made with 7 grams of coffee) are more flavorful & sweeter than one shot of 4-oz. espresso made with 14 grams of coffee. Ensure that you are putting the grinder and upper burr at the correct position and that if you are following the grinding cleaning instructions, you are aligning the arrows as it is indicated in the instructions, then re-setting your grinder. This problem is common when the grinder is set at too fine- thus no beans come out and the machine works hard but nothing comes out. Clean the channel from the grinder to doser door too as that could also be clogged with very fine coffee- it is too hard for the machine to push through too fine coffee. Then, make sure that you re-set the grinder correctly. If you are following the exact instructions but still no coffee coming out- then do the following.
Adjust one notch the outer ring in either direction and see if it makes a difference, if not try two or three. Sometimes, as the grinder gets worn out ( more commonly with oily beans and coffee that is kept in refrig/or freezer), you may have to play with the re-set (outer ring) until you begin to get coffee.

Not clear on "Empty bean container/full grounds drawer) - not empty/not full. " But I gather that coffee is not being dispensed. Most Likely the grinder needs cleaning + brew group needs cleaning ( filter ). Do you get water/steam?

Flashing lights on my saeco italia espresso machine

I had the same problem, two green flashing lights with one red (water) all 3 would just keep flashing and not turn solid. No coffee can be made or hot water. I could not pump prime. The problem was the steam wand was blocked with old milk residue. It needs unblocking or you will never pump prime. I could not unscrew the steam wand...so I let it sink in a glass full of hot water for a few minutes and then turned the water knob counter clockwise to push out the softened residue. After that, everything was good. When water started flowing out of the steam wand, the red light turned off and the green lights turned solid. The obvious answer to why you can't pump prime is there is a blockage somewhere and best to start with the steam wand. --Mabada

You can't manually reset. The machine will have to do it. I had the same problem, two green flashing lights with one red (water) all 3 would just keep flashing and not turn solid. Starbucks Saeco Italia sup021 coffee dispenser stuck problem

Hi
Open the front door. Remove the driptray. On the left back side of the brew group, there is a single screw. Remove the screw. Grab the handle and pull carefully, but firmly. The brew group should come out. There is a piece that remains in the machine. Slide the piece down and to the right and it will come off. Insert the piece into the hole on the backside of the brew group with the clip up. Tighten the screw and move brew group back into position. If your brew group did not come out call a service center.
To return the brew group to the centered position, you first need to drop the funnel. To do this look on the opposite side of the brew group from the handle. At the top you will see an object that looks like a sharks fin. Push the "Press" button and the shark fin moves up and down. If you follow this piece down you will see 2 horizontal bars on the brew group body. Push your finger between. these 2 bars and the funnel will drop. Now you can push the puck slide on the left side down and to the center. If you look down through the funnel you should see a piston. This should be centered in the funnel. If not just push the slide to the right until it does. Push the press button and you are now ready to reinsert the brew group in to the machine. First
you must close the door and turn on the machine without having the brew group in. You will hear the motor turn on and when it stops completely, open the door and insert the brew group.
