I think the one you fried is internal. You will probably have to take it into Maxtor for repair.

There is another solution you could try.

Take the hard drive out of the case and replace it with a new external hard drive case.

    Most computer stores carry them.

    Good luck on that.

Digital tvs are good at this. I had to buy a digital converter box to pick up over the air channels with a usb port on it, to play mine, you can pick up one on amazon for about 30 bucks. Make sure it has usb streaming port before you buy it!

My pendrive not pick up by my system and not

Hello,
You need to certain things.
  • If your pen drive is not being picked by any system, it is vital to see what the error message it gives.
  • If it says: USB device not recognized there is nothing more you can do. It means that the device driver installed in the pen drive is either missing or is corrupt or even was not installed (if you purchased it recently). What you can do is to get it replaced from your retailer.
If it says something else, please inform me, I will be following up your problem.

We are always there to help you out.

Regards.

Sandisk Micro 4GB Cruzer usb flash drive has malfunctioned and all the computers that I've used it on will not recognize it. Help now!

you can try run check hard drive changes,
and let the O/S pick it up, if not pick from the list of hardware devices, choose
usb mass storage, click on it and look for the maker name, pick your model.

if this those not work, run the driver from the cd that came with the USB device.

if not you will have to go for a update from O/S provider.

I have a Toshiba 250GB External Hard Drive w/ USB cable and it came with no instructions. I have used it once and went to use it, plugged it in and got the little sound on the computer and.....Nothing. How...

this might be a tab bit late....but most external hard drives do not come with too much info if any at all...go to start/my computer/you see the the external drive...right click on it (to get it ready for use) select properties..format it...yes/okay...now its ready for you to download any file you wish...you see the letter on it (the "c" drive is your primary drive)...this drive is your secondary drive....so when you are typing in word/excel and you want to save...you will save as (pick the drive letter)...same as music /video you will save as (pick the drive)...now right now you can click on the external hard drive it just open (blank page)..right click any where on the page..now pick new folder type "music" (this folder is where you can store music...now right click again on the page click new folder again rename it "photos' and can create folders for any thing you wish..when you save you just pick this drive/folder...feel free to rate the help

I can't access my external acomdata hard drive.

when you first plug in the external hard drive
windows should pick up on it, it must be on.
then go to start, settings, control panel, classic view on left, system on bottom, hardware tab, device manager, look for any yellow !! marks, you may need the driver for this, in order for it to pick up on the ext. hard drive
