I get power through the reset button. No humming, no nothing. Is it a bad motor?

If i understand correctly, you tested the wires where they connect to the garbage disposal.
Those wires connect before the garbage disposal reset button.
If the reset button is locked in, then the reset is not popped out.
If reset will not reset, then the popped-out reset will push in but not click down.

If the reset is clicked in, and you hve 120V on the line, and the garbage disposal doesn't make any noise, then the motor is bad.
There are no replacement parts for garbage disposal.

Where is the reset button for fuel pump c

I think the reset switch is in the rear quarter panel. Open the rear hatch and remove the passenger panel. I am not positive on this it could be on the other side. But on the 1990's vintage it was on the right. This switch is used for "roll overs" to shut of the fuel. You might have a bad pump or clogged filter instead.

Husky air compressor motor hums won't start

In a safe manor, when the motor is humming, give one of the pulleys a push to help get the motor started. If the motor runs OK with the help push, the start capacitor is bad. If not the next thing to check is the tank check valve.

How do you reset spa motor/pump?

Most of the motors have an internal device called a clixon that detects excessive current and shuts off the motor. It then turns it on again when it cools off. If you wait and wait and there is power for sure at the motor terminals and the motor is not even humming then there is a problem in the motor. If it hums for a few seconds and quits humming for a while then the motor capacitor is bad or the motor is bad. I hope this helps.

The disposal only hums. I can turn the blades inside so there is no food stuck. I know there is a reset button but cant locate it.

I had the same problem, it was just humming, then after a few second the on board circuit breaker would cut out. After a little while I could hit the reset button and it would just hum again.

It turns out that the base of the disposal was jammed. There are 2 blades on the top that should spin freely, but the base plate that the blades are attached to also spins. In fact, that's what the motor drives. The two blades on top are not powered, they just flip back and forth as the base spins. So get a broom handle or a strong wooden spoon, stick it down in there, and try to pry the base plate free so it spins. That should do it.

My cambell hausfeld , model WL650001AJ won`t come on . Have power to and through ths switch . Motor hooked direct to power and no start . Any thoughts ?

Check for a reset switch on the motor or air pump. They're usually located on the edge of the motor housing sometimes partially hidden by the air shroud around the air pump. It's usually a white button about the size of a pencil eraser with a two digit number in the middle of it. If it's sticking out of its housing push it in to reset it.

Humming noise when turn on, but blade/motor not moving. Tried reset button and turn the motor with allen wrench. What else can I do?

its stuck, is it still under warranty. either the motor is bad or something is jammed in there. you need to turn the blades by hand or allen , if nothing, then the motor is somehow bad, need to replace.

The motor on my Badger 5 disposal was humming but not rotating. I cleaned out all the debris, reset it and now there's nothing - no hum, nothing. Is my badger dead?

The badger 5 has a dislodge device on the bottom right in the very center. An allen wrench will fit if you have lost the tool that came with it.

FIrts you will need to dislodge anything preventing it from turning. (Insert the right size allen wrench and turn both directions) The remove whatever comes loose after dislodging.

Then opush the red reset button on the bottom. Check the breaker that powers up the disposal, as you may have tripped it.

If the breaker is on, the unit is turning freely, and the reset button is pushed, then the next step is to check for power using a volt meter, to make sure the disposal is indeed getting power. If all the above has been done, the unit IS getting power then yes, the disposal needs to be replaced.

Push start and motor hums, but nothing else works.

Hi, If you release the start button, does the hum stop? It sounds like hte start winding in the motor is bad. You can try and start it manualy by truning the timer on, open the door so that you can turn the drum with your hand. You will need anoth person there so that one of you can hold the door switch button in and the other push the start button. While pushing the start button, try turning the tub and see if it starts. This will give you an idea on the motor bad or not.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if you need any more assistance.

Thanks
Vic
