Hi is the hull made of fiberglass, if so you can normally buy these type of repair kits from car spares shops, they include fibre glass resin and sealer, good look.

"1971 wellcraft 18 foot air slot" Just got one for free to restore. Would like ANY info I can get my hands on, please!

I don't know much about the air shot. I do know that Wellcraft was one of the best boat building companies. Since the hull design really didn't stick around, it may have been more expensive to make with some improvement in how the boat planes and takes waves. Kind of like a tri-hull.

Deep Hull gouge on bottom of plastic kayak

Some people talk about getting very careful with a small torch and sticks of poly and melting them into holes like that, but I have not done that kind of repair. Whatever you do, if anything, be sure not to damage the hull - which is still OK - and to smooth out any edges when you are finished.

Does this transducer mount in the floor of the boat,or on the bottom of the hull?

Hi!

This transducer requires a hole to be drilled in the bottom of the hull and the unit installed from the outside, using a caulk/adhesive such as 3M 4200 or 5200. Nice choice. Furuno is a good manufacturer!

Hope this helps!

1995 kawasaki 750 jet ski overheats when going fast

Check your plug color. You may be having a high speed mixture problem. Is your ski spitting water out the tiny hole on the side? You should try flushing the engine, you could have a motor full of sand if you beach the craft but do not wash the sand out of the back before starting. Also inspect the engine water tubes for cracks. From the hull to the motor and from the hull to the jet pump.

My 1997 polaris jet ski keeps taking in water? what could this be??

Unplugged water tube, cracked water tube, bad drive shaft hull seal, hole/crack in the hull, cracked water box, broken exhaust jacket water seal, water tubes plugged in incorrectly, no cap on flush kit, broken fitting on motor, etc. Dry out the boat take off the seat and place it in the water and look to see where the water is coming into the hull.

Can you fix a hole in the bottom of a kayak?

Try using a product called Marine-tex it can be purchased @ most outdoor goods stores. It is not that expensive and is a 2 part compound that is very easy to use and does not dry so fast you can't work with it. I have used it to patch aluminum boat hulls and fiberglass PWC's. Give it a try..
