You didn't say what brand/model of printer you are using, but a lot of printers nowadays have a color cartridge(s) and a separate black cartridge. Perhaps the black cartridge needs to be replaced, too?
It sounds like your yellow is not printing correctly (probably a clogged nozzle). If your printer has separate cartridges, replace the yellow. If you are using aftermarket cartridges, you should try using OEM cartridges since they are spec'd to the printer. If you are usng aftermarket or reloaded cartridges, the ink may not be up to specs. In any case the yellow ink cartridge needs to be replaced. Make sure to run a deep cleaning and alignment after replacing the cartridge.
The printer must be able print all colors in order to execute the alignment. Part of the alignment process involves scanning printed colored (all colors including yellow) bars. See the web page below for a sample of the printout. I suggest that you clean the carriage and cartridge electrical contacts with a cotton swab moistened with water. If you still fail to get yellow, test the cartridge in another printer. ping me for the make of printer, anyways if it an HP series refer to the website below http://h20015.www2.hp.com/en/document.jhtml?lc=en&docName=bpu00657
Make sure the print settings on for you printer is set correctly.
Run alignment and test pages
If that does'nt work check to make sure you have the right ink cartridge.
However, if these don't work call the manufacturer (customer service) of your printer or look on the manufacturers' website
May be you are not installed well the software driver of the printer. First check the test page of the printer.
For test page see the option of the printer icon.right click icon goto the properties and click test page. Then it will not print well after that put the driver cd into the cd drive and install the software.try it and if the prob comes again please inform to fixya.com
Is it an HP printer? We had the same problem at work with print cartridges purchased at Staples. They have a major quality control problem. Your new print cartridge may be empty or dried out (died on the shelf). It's my problem at work, as I have over 80 HP deskjets, and Purchasing still insists on buying the Staples cartridges rather than the HP.
Sometimes if you shake a print cartridge really hard it may correct the problem. However, I would buy or borrow a black HP print cartridge and try it out in your printer. Works almost every time on the job. Good luck.
