Question about Frigidaire Refrigerators

1 Answer

Frigidaire the refridgerator is not cold enough. It stays at 60 degrees, I don't know the model because it was torn off inside the fridge and the owner's manual did not come with the house when we bought it. What do we need to do. It is a stainless steel side by side fridge

Have one similar and found out the compressor goes out on them about a year and half after purchase. You can buy another compressor but the likely hood of it going out again is likely. Sorry but we bought bad fridges. Never again will I buy a Fridgidaire.

Freezer section working properly, 0 degrees, fridge side not cooling enough, 60 degrees. Controls have not been changed.

If it's like mine, cold air from the freezer isn't reaching the fridge section, so you probably have one or both of 2 problems: the circulating fan isn't working and/or the air flow channels are blocked by frost/ice. The fan is probably inside a structure at the back of the freezer that should be removable to check it.
If the fan's running, you have a freeze-up. Solution is to turn everything off, remove food & wait for the ice to melt which will take several hours unless you speed things up with, say, a hand-held hair dryer. This worked for me!
If the fan's not running, you can find a replacement at your local appliance parts dealer.

Our refridgerator is not getting cold! it is staying at 60 degrees.. we tried cleaning out the back fan, and also tried resetting the temperature gauge but it keeps going back to 60 degrees and it...

Please double check your model number because that number is not listed. I am pretty sure it has a dual evaporator one for freezer and other for the fresh food compartment. Check behind the cover of the fan inside the fresh food compartment to see if the coils are icing over. Send me the correct model number will help me decide if it is something different. I will even send you a Service manual with the correctmodel number, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer won't go below 10 and fridge goes between 40 and 60 degrees

Ensure the condenser is not clogged with dust or other debris.
Ensure the condenser fan (usually found in back) is turning when the fridge is running.

Whirlpool side by side freezer ice cold refridge only at 55

My frigidaire has a flapper valve assembly that opens and lets the cold air in from the freezer as required. The frigidaires are known for the flapper breaking and staying open and allowing too much cold air in to the refridgerator side.. Check yours out. Mine has a shroud at the top of the refridgerator. Remove it and look around, I feel sure you have the same problem.

Refrigerator will not stay cold

Bought a second hand fridge that was running well. We layed the fridge on it's side for moving and let it stand upright for at least 4 hours. The moving was only 45 minutes. The freezer is semi-cold but the main body of the fridge stays at aprox. 68 degrees. Any solutions.
