Question about Philips Magnavox 15MF400T 15 in. LCD Television

Magnavox -Reset I just moved into a new apartment and the cable company told me a I needed to reset my TV so that cable would come through. I am not sure how to do that. My TV model is 15MF605T/17

    Magnavox 15MF605T/17. No power. Green light on power supply just blinks but unit does not come on.

Maybe they mean you need to rescan for channels (and possibly switch the tuner to cable mode).

Magnavox tv has intermittent pixelation and snow breaking through on picture on all channels. Have had cable service out twice to replace digital DVR box but still a problem. Brand new HDMI cable too.


If your TV is connected to the cable box with only an HDMI cable, the problem should either the cable company equipment or outside interference. A bad HDMI cable with cause intermittent or continuous complete loss of picture. Try plugging the HDMI cable from the cable box into a different TV (if you can borrow one) then you can prove if the problem is with the TV or the cable equipment. Maybe a neighbor has a ham radio that is causing interference? (They will have a tall antenna at there house, so easy to see.)

TV channels not available but the tv was work before I changed internet providers. I was watching a program when the installer came. They got my internet working and when I turned on the tv no channels...


Hi.
It could be that you didn't get everything from your cable installer that you were supposed to.

Most cable systems nowadays have a dvr type box for the main tv, and have whats called a digital transport device for the other tv's in the house.

It's a digital converter box designed especially for cable systems, and on top of that, it requires the cable company to send a signal to the box in order for it to work properly.

I know about this only because I went from a single tv cable system to a 4 room system, and the boxes are what the cable company told me to get.

Luckily, they provided them for free, all I had to do was tell them how many tv's I needed them for, and they came in the mail within a few days.

The TV turns off and then on automatically


Tries to reset the tv back to the factory setting.Unplug the tv and the cable box too,replug it back about an hour later.Let the cable box reboot and upgrade it softwares.Go into the tv Menu.Go to the PICTURE setting.Go down to the reset,to reset the Tuner board,this will reset the the Tuner board,back to the factory setting.This should solved ur tv problems,not than,the Tuner board is defective,must be replaced.

This is a common problem with Cable companies when they update their firmware. This makes the two incompatible. You can try going onto www.samsung.com and look for firmware updates for your model. Follow the instructions provided. If this does not work then you have a bad cable box. Cables companies are notorious for blaming the tv. Don't let them fool you. Stand your ground and insist on them correcting the problem.

All the apartments complex have it than it not ur tv.It the cable company signal problem.Tell the maneger call talk to the company check the wiring.

Disconnect the cable box, and put the standard cable feed on to the TV set. Now see if it works!

Or, with the cable box disconnected, see if the set works with the DVD player.

I strongly believe that the problem is with the cable box, and not with the TV set!!!

i also have 2 horizonatl lines that roll about a foot apart up the screen...
i have been told twice now by two different people that it is a cable grounding problem, so if you have cable tv call the company and tell them what it is doing, i was informed they are aware of this problem and can install a filter at the main cable in line and this should solve this problem...which since i just had this looked at this morning i am going to be calling the cable company today!

call philips to get this srviced under warranty. this repair might take a few weeks because the failure could essentially be any one of several parts. first thing to try is the ssb, then the logic board and lvds cable. if none of these work then you need a new panel
