It is a problem with the slot that the game is inserted into (usually slot 1).

In the case of slot 1 it can be as simple as a bent pin which can be easily fixed.

or

Have the slot replaced wiht a new one for around €30.

If it is just that game, it's broken, 100% positive. if all games are frozen, get a VERY small airbrush and blast the inside of the DS card insert

Your daughter's DS may have blown a wire. You may want to go to the store you bought it from and ask for it to be checked, and if a problem shows, to ask for it repaired/ replaced.

The DS Card Slot may be loose. If so, try not to touch the game card while playing.

Or, there may be a piece of dust or lint in the card slot. If you can see the lint, pick it out with clean tweezers. If you cannot see it, ask a mechanic to open the Ds and pick the dust out.

SOURCE: My daughter's Nintendo DS Lite

There is no reset button, however there is a way to reset it.
Take out the games in the DS Lite
Then take out the battery and leave it for about 120 seconds
Then put in the battery
It should have reset itself, if not take the battery out and leave it for a little longer and then put in the battery.
Now it should reset itself and then put in the name and other info.
I hope this helps

hi there the battery may be faulty and therefore decreceing the battery life meaning the game might be cutting out due to the battery

My daughters nintendo ds lite keeps freezing up.She has had the console for 4 years. It kept freezing up on her and shutting off, so I tried buying a new battery, and it "seemed" to work better but still...

You might have a dirty game port. As you play the game the game cartridge might be loosing contact with the contacts in the game port. If this happens the game will freeze. Clean out the game port with a cleaning kit made for the ds. Also clean all the games contacts as well. If they have dirt or grime on them they will pass it on to the contacts in the ds when you insert the game.

I'd be happy to replace it for you

Nintendo ds lite

Hi,
you,ll pay more to have it repaired than to replace it.
I,d suggest buy a new one.
Keep the old one for spares.
Once motherboards/Circuitboards get soaked, it damages the boards/components/solder joints.

When this "freeze" occurs, turn off the DS system and remove and re-insert the game cartridge several times. Turn the system back on and the game should appear. If not, repeat this procedure.
