You should restart the computer by powering it off and on. When it restarts, go into Control Panel and manually remove the program.

I deleted everything and now it goes to a black screen

Start the computer, and watch for the screen at the bottom to indicate to press F11 or to run setup. Once here, You'll see a file menu. Press F9 on each one and save the defaults. Once you reach the last, Exit Menu, press F9 and press yes to save defaults.

Press Exit again, and exit saving settings.

The computer will restart again. If the OS (operating system) does not load still, restart the computer again, and press F1, or the indicated F command shown at bottom of screen to go into Loading List.

This list will allow you to start the computer and operate in "Safe Mode". NOTE: some programs will not operate or run in safe mode, however you should be able to downlaod the appropriate driver.

If this does not work, insert the Operating System CD and re-install from the start - if you are prompted for repair or install, select Install.

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

After i use it for a wile the screen turns blue for a second and then it shuts off, the black screen comes on asking me to wait 20 seconds until windows powers up

1. A possible viral attack. Before your windows crashes, backup your data. Be prepared to reinstall the Windows. Or reinstall it after the backup is over.
2. Or did you install a program recently and after that this problem has cropped up??? Uninstall that program.

I have a Dell Dimension 4550 running windows XP Home. I just recently purchased a new DVD drive(Sony Optiarc AD-7221A) and I can't get it to work. The first drive I tried was a Lite-on DVD burner, and now...

sounds like you have issues with your hard drive.  go to start>run.
type this in without the " "
"cmd", hit ok.  a black screen pops up.  type "cd.." and hit enter.  type in "cd.." and hit enter again.  type "chkdsk c: /f /r".  It will say the drive can not be checked, it is in use.  hit "y" to schedule a check at boot up.  type"exit" and reboot your computer.  let me know if this helps.

Gx 650 cannot boot from the usb

Hi
My name is Sydney, the blue screen usually comes when your memory (RAM) is being used to the maximum and there is non left for other programs, or maybe your windows files are corrupt.
First of remove any software or hardware that you recently installed, cancel the installation of the necessary software so that you can do this without the computer giving you a blue screen.
If this does not solve your problem, reinstall windows and choose the upgrade option. if this does not help, you should just format your hard disk and this should solve the problem.
If the problem persists do not hesitate to contact me.

Blue screen keeps coming up

The blue screen you are referring to usual appears when there is a software/hardware conflict.

If you have recently added any hardware to your computer , try removing it and rebooting the computer..if it was software you have recently installed , try booting the computer in "Safe Mode" ( tap the F8 key when the computer is first booting) and uninstall the program.......

If that does not work , we would need to do some more troubleshooting. First we would need the exact error code from the blue screen. That will help us narrow down exactly where the issue is coming from. In the picture below notice the red box's , the code in those box's is the code we need from yours.

Dell pc giving blue screen -issue with recent Windows update?

Dear SherriJ:

Some time you might get this issues with the updates if they doesn't install properly or the computer turns off while instaiing updates.

However you can select last known good configuration of restore you computer to earlier time.

I would recommend you to keep the automatic updates on that will help you keep your computer in a good state.
