The track ball on my marble mouse doesn't move as smoothly as it did when I first purchased it. I have cleaned it, as well as cleaned the inside of the part that holds the mouse. Nothing helps. Any suggestions?

what type of mouse is this? track ball or laser? if its track ball try to remove the ball and clean it with soap and water, there is two gear inside the mouse one for vertical the other for horizontal movement the rod of these gears sometimes get covered with dirt which cause the erratic movement clean this with light alcohol and all will be ok
Turn it belly side up.
If there is a retaining ring turnit counter-clockwise to remove it Pop out the ball.
There are three little bearings about the and shape ofa BB
Take a Q tip and dry and or remove any debris on the BBs
There should also be a little black rectangle. This is thewindow that the sensor looks at the ball through,
Clean/dry it with Q-tip. Put it back together and try again.
If you do have a mouse with a track-ball, then rotate the "ring" that holds the track-ball inside the mouse, to "unlock" the ring. Remove the ring. Look inside the mouse. You'll see two rollers.
Look for accumulated "gunk" in a ring at the center of each roller. Gently scrape each roller, to clean it. Re-insert the mouse. Re-insert the ring. Rotate it, to "lock" the ring into place.
If it has a ball, it may need cleaning. Remove the ball and use methylated spirits to clean the ball itself. Also metho on a cotton-bud (gently) to clean the small rollers inside.
If it uses light beams, make sure there's no dust blocking the beam.
If you remove the ball, look inside there are 2 white rollers(they may ba a different color) that touch the ball as it moves, there will be build up of gunk on them from the ball, use an exacto knife or something small to scrape the stuff off of them.
Nope have to throw it away and buy another. I've had this same problem every 3-4 months: works fine then it disappears from device manager then it works again at random. I end up replacing it after my curser stops moving for minutes at a time. After a few months the replacement does the same thing. My 5th replacement will be Kensington, Logitech apparently sucks
