Re: kenwood kvt-911dvd disc error for dvd play?
Check if you have a dvd rom or writer
then go online and install VLC media player http://www.filehippo.com/download_vlc/
try playing your DVD
it will run as for playing dvd you need a dvd running software
si VLC player is made to play DVDs

That is a Pioneer error saying that it can't read the disc. It could be bad discs or a dirty, scratched or misadjusted head or lens. I hope it's bad discs for your sake. Repairing and adjusting the unit could cost more than $100. Not really worth it for such an old unit. If you know the discs are good, you can try a CD lens cleaning disc available at stores like Walmart (dvd dr lens cleaner, Model#: 7010500, $14.88). Hope this helps!
I have the same Kenwood unit and mine worked great for over 2 years.... I now get the same 05 error code whenever i insert any cds.... I havent yet been able to find anything about this on the net... I am about to take the cd player in for the extended warranty I purchased with it.... It is by far the best cd player that I have ever owned...............
Changer Error Codes
? E-00: Poor Cable connection.
? E-01: Magazine not properly set in changer.
? E-02: No Disc in magazine.
? E-03: CD does not have selected track number.
? E-04: Disc is dirty, upside down or unreadable.
? E-10: No data is recorded on the MD. The player plays the next disc automatically.
? E-99: Changer malfunction, disc may be caught in machine or changer requires service.
I suggest the lens needs a clean, or someone has dropped it and broken the delicate lens mech.
