Lines printing every time I copy

Ever since I installed a new toner cartridge, I am getting 5 or 6 thick lines going across every copy I make. I assume something needs to be cleaned, but I dont know what or how.

Why is there black line printed across the page in 3 different areas when something is printed. I changed the toner catridge.

This is nearly always the fault of the toner cartridge. The previous cartridge may have left toner on the transfer roller and this may have contaminated the new toner cartridge. Take the toner cartridge out and inside the printer under where the toner cartridge goes you will see a felt roller that goes across the printer and has a gear at one end. Wipe this roller with a dry clean lint free cloth, rotating it to make sure it is completly clean.
Check the blue coloured drum on the toner cartridge to see if there is a black line going across it. If so clean it with the same dry clean cloth.
If this does not work then I suggest you buy a genuine toner cartridge and try that.

Printed copies have ghost images on them. I have never had this problem before., It looks like the image printed twice - once fine and then faint horizontal lines, sometimes some of the previously printed...

1) try doing a full clean from within the menu on the printer, or within the computer software
2) You need to perform a half test. Put a sheet of paper on the manual feeder and do a config page from the information menu on the printer. When the back edge of the paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop the printing. Now remove the toner cartridge and look at the image below. If the defect is present, then the toner cartridge is the problem 99% of the time. There is a slight possibility that during the conditioning stage of the print process the drum of the toner is not being fully discharged so when the next stage takes places part of the previous image gets put on the toner cartridge again. Very rare. If the defect is not present then the fuser has an issue.

When the paper comes out there are black, ink like lines on the sheet. This happened after we bought a brand new cartridge...we took it in to be cleaned, but it starts doing it again after several copies...

I saw a defective toner cartridge in a Brother just last month that left solid drips of toner on the page, so thick they peeled off in lines. If that's what you're describing, take a sample back to the store along with your toner cartridge, and they should exchange it. Might want to call ahead and see if they require bringing in the printer too.
If you're seeing thin, straight lines, and they were also showing before you replaced the toner, then you either have a drum or a fuser roller with a scratch around it. You pull the drum unit out every time you replace the toner. It's the assembly you install the toner in before putting the whole thing back into the machine.
The fuser is much harder to get to. It's the hot section in the back that makes the print permanent by pressing it between hot rollers. There's a simple, but scary test to see which part puts extra marks on the page, and that's to deliberately jam the printer. Start a test print and wait until you think the page is past the toner/drum assy. and headed for the fuser. Open up the printer, stopping it, and pull out the drum. If the paper is past the drum and headed for the fuser, look to see whether it has those lines on it. If it does, the drum is the problem. If the print is still clean, the fuser is the problem, and you're looking at a repair.

Printed sheets come out with blackish/greyish lines on the right side

Use follow these cleaning steps for your printer:

1. Open the front cover of the printer and remove the drum/toner unit.
2. Gently wipe the scanner window with a soft dry cloth. The scanner
window is located on the roof of the inside of the printer.
3. On the top of the drum unit, locate the blue tab on the left side.
Slide it back and forth across the drum about 30 times.
4. Remove the toner cartridge (TN430 or TN460) from the drum unit
(DR400). To remove the toner from the drum: hold down the blue lever on the right side of the drum (DR400) and lift the toner (TN430 or TN460) off of the drum unit.
5. Inside the drum unit (DR400) there is a green roller. Wipe the green
drum roller with a dry tissue (i.e. Kleenex). You may turn this roller
by moving the gears on the far left side.
6. If the pages area gray pages or have gray vertical lines, install a
brand new toner cartridge. If pages have dots, spots, smudges or
horizontal lines, install a brand new drum unit.
OR
If you are still experiencing gray pages or gray vertical lines,
please install a brand new toner cartridge (TN430 or TN460).

Brother strongly recommends that customers do not use generic drum unitsand/or toner cartridges, or refill their Brother toner cartridge. Each Brother laser printer is designed to work at pre-set temperatures that are matched exactly to each of our individual toner formulations. Each individual component is designed to work with the other to ensure quality and reliability. Using non-Brother supplies may affect the hardware performance, print quality and machine reliability.
The Brotherlimited warranty does not apply to any problem that is caused by the useof unauthorized third party drum units, toner cartridges or toner.

Faint red line across page when making color copies or printing in color from computer

Some possibilities are:

1) Dirt on the glass, dirt on the glass strip for the doc feeder, or dust on the mirrors. This would be the case if the line only showed when copying and not printing.

2) Toner dropped onto the charge sawtooth.
This may be possible if the line is intermittent and only showed up for 1 or 2 colors.
Open the front door and remove the waste toner box. To the left of each drum there is a green organ-stop type stem. Pull and reinsert each stem. You will hear a zipping noise. These are your charge scrubbers.
This may be not as likely if the line shows up in the same place on all 4 colors

3) Toner or dust on the lens
This may be possible if the line is intermittent and only showed up for 1 or 2 colors.
In the area where the waste toner box goes, look for a grey stick with a white cushion on the end. This is your lens scrubber. Look in the area under the charge scrubber on each drum cartridge for a gap. Insert the scrubber cushion side down into the gap and run it forward and back to clean the lens.
This may be not as likely if the line shows up in the same place on all 4 colors

4) Transfer belt blade not cleaning
This is best handled by a service tech since the mylar belt is very fragile. The squeegee blade that cleans the transfer belt between copies is missing a spot. The blade needs to be taken off the belt, cleaned and repowdered. Recently, Sharp made changes to the composition and thickness of the mylar in the transfer belts. Overpowdering the blade or belt when it was changed may cause improper cleaning of the belt creating lines across the copies. Often the condition clears up after a couple of days as the gap between the blade and belt is sealed.
This is most likely the cause as the line shows up in the same area for more than 1 color.

5) Transfer belt and/or blade is worn out
If the belt is worn the blade must be replaced but not vice versa.

6) Clogged waste augers in the drum cartridges.
Waste toner may cake up in the drum cartridge and knock loose on the drum.

It may be time for full maintenance on the machine.

Faint vertical lines on Samsung ML-2010

Was the toner remanufactured/ compatible?
Sounds to me like the doctor blade in the cartridge is 'gummed' up and not allowing the toner to flow evenly across the Developer roller......try another cartridge

Toner lines when I print

I don't think it is anything to do with the toner cartridge as this doesn't put the toner on the page seems to me that the drum unit is faulty either the cleaning blade has failed or the charge roller. Best thing to do is call a service engineer or copier company that deal with Richo or Rex Rotary.

Thanks J

Consistent, faded and streaking vertical lines across entire page, from top to bottom.

Toner issue getting to drum - use gen toner cart.

or Drum blade stuffed (lines are down page fro top to bottom- replace drum assy

Drum has been exposed to light faint or blank across copies repeated 4 times down page - replace drum assy

or upper fuser roller stuffed, down page, smudgy print -  replace fuser

LSU(laser) or boards rarely cause issues
