Check your ip address and other network settings of your Dell. Also check your firewall, it may be blocking it. You can always "manually select port to install" which is usually the default anyways. Just create a standard tcp/ip port using the ip address of the copier.

DELL D820 WON'T LET ME CHANGE RESOLUTION

That means you are probably at the highest resolution that will work for your driver and video graphics card.

Go to your manufacturers website and download and install the latest Video Driver and see if that solves the problem.

Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "DellSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the drivers.

Windows is corrupted

If your Windows is XP then try REPAIR Windows if the laptop cannot boot up.

1. Insert your Windows XP Install CD into your CD-ROM drive.
2. Boot up your computer with the Windows CD.
3. Run the SETUP go through the first part of the Installation procedure.
4. When the "Welcome to Setup." press Enter to Setup Windows XP.
5. Press F8 to agree to the End User License.
6. Let Setup search your system for previous versions of Windows.
8. When Setup is finished searching your system, select your Windows XPInstallation and press the R key on your keyboard to start the RepairProcedure.

Setup will replace all major system file.

After Windows has been REPAIRED then do a Windows update to install the latestupdates on your computer.

If this did not work the you need to Install Windows again and not try to REPAIR Windows. Then install the laptop's device drivers and your programs.

I bought a Dell Lattitude D630 (windows xp

Ok first do you have the windows xp professional cd to restore your system. That will be your first thing to do if you cannot remember your password. If you do then reload the system to the original state. Let me know if you need any assistant by doing that.

After reinstalling XP, did you install all the required drivers from support.dell.com?

I have a Dell Latitude D820. It is password

Try pressing control alt delete, which should start your task manager..

Then choose new task

type in explorer

If it pulls up a window, then what you need to do is a system restore..

If it does not pull up a window, then you will need to locate a xp install disk or one of your recovery disks and try a repair install

Re: inadvertently uninstalled audio on dell lattitude 800

First I'd try to install the latest driver:
1. Go to http://support.dell.com
2. Click on "Drivers and Downloads"
3. Your best option is by using the service tag code (usually on the bottom of the laptop), but if you can't locate it, use the select by model option.
4. Click the plus next to Audio
5. Download the newest driver and install.
6. After installation, reboot and see if it worked.

seems that it's a SATA drive and the drivers are not included in XP.
There are some tools available to include these drivers into the XP CD.
Search the net for 'xp-iso-builder' or 'n-Lite'.

This is not necessary if your laptop's got a floppy drive (i don't think so). Then the SATA drivers can easily be loaded by pressing F6 when booting from the XP CD.
