Cartridge Jam - HP Printers & Copiers

My HP printer suffers a cartridge jam every time I try to use it. I turn it off, unjam the cartridge, turn it back on and it does the same thing immediately. It's not intermittent and unjamming the cartridge doesn't help, since it just does the same thing every time.

Why is there a paper jam from cartridge?

There could be a hard-to-find shred of paper stuck inside. You may have to use a strong light and even do partial disassembly to locate the source of the jam.

The printer says that there is a cartridge jam and it will not print.

Does it say "cartridge jam" or "jam in cartridge area"?

If it is the latter open the door and remove the jam.
Then press the SELECT button to continue.

I'm getting an error msg and can't print. It says please fix cartridge jam and hit enter. I can't find any jam. What do I do?

If there isn't a cartridge jam then it's probably a carriage jam:
However, I'm not too familiar with clearing a carriage jam. I just know that if your cartridges are not blocked then the carriage is likely at fault. You will need to Google this on how to fix a carriage jam.

Says there is an ink cartridge jam

Is it an actual cartridge jam or maybe a paper jam? Try taking the cartridges and all the paper out of the machine and reinstalling them. Check the cartridges to make sure all packing is removed. Sometimes there is clear tape covering the bottom of the cartridge that will cause these errors as well.

Hope this helps

How to Clear carriage jam on HP PSC 1610 Printer? No obvious paper jam visible.

Dear it's the carriage jam error. so it mean that your carriage is jam not paper. so open the printer where you insert the cartridge. check whether it is jam or what . cartridge carrier is jam kindly turn off the printer and try to move the cartridge head by hand very gently and if seems to be stuck than check for anything which abort him to move freely so than might be anything like dust or else. when you get success in moving the head put some machine lubricant on the rod on which head moves and check it ok.
