For Blue Yonder, Virgin, NTL you must only put the mailbox name in for the username.
Also, for the outgoing server do not use the blue yonder value unless you are at home. The outgoing server has to match the broadband supplier, unless you have your own website set up for email and most providers will accept this

Here are the steps on how to configure Outlook 2007 to connect to your USA.NET account using POP3 or IMAP, please do the following:

* Click on Tools> Account Settings.
* Under the Account Settings window, click on the Email Tab, click New.
* Select Microsoft Exchange, POP, IMAP, or HTTP > click Next.
* Under the Auto Account Setup, place a check in the box called Manually Configure Server settings or additional types, click Next.
* Select Internet Email, click Next.

Next, fill out the following information:

* User Information
Your Name: Your Name (e.g., Joe Black)

When I tried to send email from Outlook, the Internet Service Provider replied -ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password. How can I correct this error?? My ISP is att.net. I have not found a solution on that...

This means that your user/password combination is wrong for that email server. So double check that you have the right password and user name entered for that account in Outlook. If you're 100% sure you have it right, then you might be using the wrong email/authentication server. If you continue to have problems and are located near Washington DC, feel free to contact me through my website.

Unable to access email account on acer net book . i have a laptop running blueyonder broadband, when i try to connect my netbook to my outlook express email account i get unable to access the mail server.

Hi

This sounds like your user account settings are not correct and need to be input via the account management section to look like the following:

  • Customer Email format - user.name@blueyonder.co.uk
  • Outgoing Mail Server - smtp.blueyonder.co.uk
  • Outgoing server type - SMTP
  • Incoming mail server - pop3.blueyonder.co.uk
  • Incoming server type - POP3
  • Password - for example, Rich4rd1

  • Thanks

You have to go to the website of your internet provider and find the email server information. Then you open outlook express, click on account setup and enter the server information.

I can do this for you for a fee of $14.95. My email address is buffalonymann@yahoo.com. You can create a free email account at yahoo (web based) and contact me by email

The issue is: Unable to Send/Receive emails from winThe host 'POP3' could not be found. Please verify that you have entered the server name correctly. Account: 'POP3', Server: 'POP3', Protocol: POP3, Port:...

You are receiving this error because of one of two reasons:
    1) Your email account is not set up properly. Click on Microsoft Outlook, click on Tools, then Accounts. You will see a window with columns stating Account-Type-Connection. If an account is set up then click on it then click on Properties. Click server tab and you will see the SMTP server block and the POP3 server block. Both of these fields will read as follows: pop.XXXXX.net and smtp.XXXXX.net. Your Internet Service Providers name will be in the XXXX. If these are not set up properly then you cannot connect to send email. If they are filled out correctly then you need to call your Internet Service Provider and inform them of your situation. Their server is not working properly.

Don't forget to 4 star this solution.

Pop email settings with godaddy domain

I FINALLY GOT THE ANSWER! I ALSO HAVE A GODADDY EMAIL ADDRESS AND USE A HTC TOUCH PHONE FROM SPRINT. I've entered the following settings and my email now works like a charm! This is for a POP3 email address, not an IMAP email address.

You cannot send the email unless you have a sprint email address. Email must go through the Sprint server in order to be sent (incoming mail does not).

Call Sprint Tier II (877.345.7895) and ask them to set you up with a User Name and Password for the outgoing mail server. All the rest of the settings are as follows:

EMAIL SET UP Email Address: You@YourGoDaddyDomain.com Your Password: the password you use to access your go daddy account Check SAVE PASSWORD Click NEXT UNCLICK TRY TO GET EMAIL SETTINGS AUTOMATICALLY FROM THE INTERNET. Click NEXT. Your Email Provider: Internet Email Click Next Your Name: Dales Wife Account Display Name: 'GoDaddy Email" or whatever you'd like to call it so you can identify this account (you can have several email accounts sent to your phone). Click NEXT Incoming Mail Server: pop.secureserver.net Account Type: POP3 Click NEXT User Name: Again enter You@YourGoDaddyDomain.com Password: Enter your password again Check SAVE PASSWORD Outgoing (SMTP) Mail Server: smtp.sprintpcs.com CHECK Outgoing server requires authentication UNCHECK Use the same user name and password for sending email Advanced Server Settings: DO NOT Check: Require SSL for Incoming e-mail DO NOT Check: Require SSL for Outgoing e-mail Click DONE to return to previous screen Click NEXT Outgoing Server Login: TheNameGivenToYou@sprintpcs.com Password: When you call Sprint Tier II they will ask you what password you'd like. Check Save Password. Automatic Send/Receive: I use every 5 minutes and it doesn't seem to run my battery down. Click FINISH. This has been driving me crazy for two months now so I really hope this information helps somebody else out. Best of luck! NOW, if anyone knows how to remove those annoying envelopes when I access my mail - I could use the help. There are three envelopes there (one for GoDaddy mail, one for Outlook and one for Picture Mail.) I do not use Outlook or Picture Mail and would love it if I could remove those.

    Manual programing

You need to be more specific about what you want to do
    with your phone.
However, I know that everyone uses Email, so I will give you
an example of how configurable is.

This is how you can do Personal Email Setup
[with providers with automatic settings - Motorola approved]

During automatic setup all the necessary settings for the ISP is downloaded from the network. A few popular ISPs with automatic settings include:

  • Yahoo.com
  • Verizon.net
  • Comcast.net
  • Netzero.net
  • AOL.com
  • Earthlink.net

  • You'll need this information ready:
    • POP3/IMAP provider
    • Your username, password, and any special security requirements
Note: For these instructions, “LSK” refers to the Left Soft Key; “RSK” refers to the Right Soft Key on your Motorola Q.
    1. Press Start, locate the Messaging Icon.
    2. Move cursor over Messaging Icon and select.
    3. Select B. Outlook Email
    4. Press Menu
    5. Select Options
    6. Select New Account
    7. Input your name (as they want it to appear to any email recipients). Press the down arrow key when complete.
    8. Input your email address. Press the down arrow key when complete.
    9. Select the “Attempt to obtain email settings from the Internet.” check box.
    10. Press the Next button. (RSK)
    11. Allow the device to obtain the settings. There should be a success message when the process is complete: “Success. Auto obtained settings for yourprovider.com”.
    12. Select Next (RSK)
    13. In the User Name field, input your login. Press the down arrow.
    14. Input the password for the account in the Password field.
    15. If a domain exists for the account, it will be automatically populated. Note: For most POP3/IMAP4 account, a domain is not necessary.
    16. Select the check box to save the password.
    17. Press the Next (RSK)
    18. All fields on this screen will be automatically populated.

    22. Choose how many days worth of email you would like to receive. Use the left/right arrows to make selection.
    23. Choose the initial size of each email you would like to receive. Use the left/right arrows to make selection.
    24. Press Next (RSK)
    25. Select how often you would like the device to automatically synchronize with this email account. Note: If you plan to sync another email account via ActiveSync using a scheduled sync, the POP3/IMAP4 account should not be set to sync on a schedule. If the POP3 account is set to sync on a schedule, it will disrupt the ActiveSync scheduled sync.
    26. Press Next (RSK)
    27. Press Finish (RSK)
    28. If you would like to download the email from the account press Yes (LSK). Press No (RSK) if you do not want to download the email from your account. Note: To delete an email account, From Home Screen > Start Menu > Messaging. Select the Account you want to delete (e.g. Yahoo!). Press Menu > Options > Account Options. Highlight the account you want to delete. Press Menu and select Delete.
