Question about Canon imageRUNNER 5020 Copier

1 Answer

Copy Orientation My Canon imageRUNNER 5020 automatically changes the orientation of its copies, cutting off the content being copied (regardless of how it is placed on the copy tray). Is there any way to manually set the orientation? I have tried changing the paper tray and everything I know to do. Help please!

Is it cutting off on all of the paper trays on the same side of the page? Lead edge or Trail or front to back side of the copier? You can adjust the front to back in the paper tray and the lead and trail are adjusted in service mode. Do the amout of the cutting off change at all? You may have a reg. clutch problem. Also you can adjust the X & Y amouts in service mode as well.... It could just be as easy as making sure the paper tray guide's are tight against the paper in the trays...

Can't auto copy odd sized pages.

you need to turn off "auto paper select", and manually select an appropriate size /orientation, because the sheets are close enough to a particular size (based on the sensor locations) that the machine is choosing it for you.

Canon imageRunner 5055 copying in landscape instead of portrait

Double check paper orientation when you put paper into the feeder and how the paper is loaded.

The orientation of the page in the feeder and the page in the drawer should match.

Copy orientation

Basicly, the check is smaller then a standard LTR size paper. The copier will only see it as a standard size. You will have to put a standard size peice of paper behind that check on the glass so it will read a standard size of paper.... The copier will not know that you are coping a check... They are not that smart..... Good Luck

  2. Load paper in the auto sheet feeder or the cassette in the portrait orientation.

  3. Lift the document cover and set a document on the platen glass.

    MEMO:

    - Regardless of the document size, set it in the landscape orientation.

    - Place the copying face down on the platen glass.

    - Align the document with the alignment mark (shown as the arrow) on the lower right corner of the platen glass.

Note: The machine cannot scan the area approximately 3 mm from the front and right edges of the platen glass.

Printing Alignment

Is the paper cassette set to the correct paper size and/or the printer driver printing to the correct paper size? Sometimes this can cause the image to be offset.
