There's an excellent tool I use myself called KillDisk that is free, just download it and copy it to a bootable floppy disk, then use it to entirely wipe your whole hard drive, it just takes a few hours depending on your computer speed and drive size. It can be configured to wipe to Department of Defense security standards (takes longer) or just random 0s and 1s. I highly recommend this software, it's very easy to use and best - free!

Kudos to you for donating your PC, and for being smart enough to wipe the hard drive!

Please be sure to back up important emails and any data first!! :)

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Do I need to deregister a Kindle that was not working and has been donated?

you may need to remove any personal details from it.but as far as i can find out the next person that gets it will have to register to them.
and that will take of any info from the last owner.
but if it was me i would take all info off it.

The best way to clean computer

Leave it plugged in to eliminate static discharge, take the covers off and use a small brush and a vacuum to clean out all the dust that is on the heat sinks on the CPU and the power supply. Clean the fans and the motherboard.

I'm in desperation to find 1 replacement aperture blade for this Nikon 35mm 1.4 AI lens, Any leads to get 1 or a set would be appreciated - Regards

Nikon does not sell parts to end users or independent repair shops any more, you could contact a few shops to see if they have the part in stock, but your best bet may be a broken lens that can donate the part you need. You could also check with:

Computer wants a boot disk. It was donated to our church

It sounds like the person who donated the PC wiped the HD clean, so that none of their previous data can be taken from the old HD.

And when they re-installed an operating system, they did not complete the installation. This means you must contact that person, find out which OS they installed on the HD, and get the boot diskette from that person.

The alternative is to have them do a full install of an OS, or you do it yourself. But you must use an OS for which you have a license.

Otherwise, you will have error messages pop up every step of the way, and you won't be able to use the PC without error messages every step of the way.

I have the portable cd players in my classroom for students to listen to books on cds. One of the students dropped it...now the disc won't spin. Can I take it apart and fix it?

Chances are either the motor became disconnected - which just entails opening it up and looking for anything that might have came loose; or it's completely broke which would be more trouble than what it's worth.

What I would do is hit up craigslist or ebay to find a slightly used CD player, or even local small electronics shops should sell them relitavely cheap.

Another thing is that small electronics shops love the oppertunity to advertise. With that being said, ask them if there was any way that they could do media donations to local schools and let them in some way put their business info on it. Get the name out and recognized. Then, when another breaks you have spare to use, and if you get enough donations, as an end-of-year gift give the player to each kid. - Just an idea.

Good luck and let me know how things work out!

Please give me a good rating if i've helped you out!

Respectfully,

Don

Emachines t5230 & no power Working fine one day and then no power the next?

Your eMachines features the cheapest power supply in the industry. I have personally replaced 6 of these. You can replace it with a factory unit for $20 or go to your local compter shop, and get a $40 unit that will last until you need a new computer.

( It says... 480Ws but I dont believe it )

$20:
