With the DVD function, try cycling the parking brake. On my Jensen unit, I have to have the handbrake set when I choose the DVD function. When the "lawyer screen" comes up, I release the e-brake for 3-5 seconds, and then reapply it. Then the movie comes up. Try that and see if it works.

Common Problems with Motorola MCS2000 Two Way Radio

Motorola MCS2000, great radios.

you say common problems with this radio is audio, I beg to differ, I don't have issues with mine.

However, if you've fiddled around with the volume control and it hasn't solved it, then, if it's an ageing unit, it could well be in need of a replacement volume controller, but I doubt that's the case.

My only advice is to do the following:

join yahoo group specific to your radio Make/Model, give as much detail as possible re: the issues you are having, and the team there will be happy to advise you what is required, plus you can download manuals, diagrams and other goodies for your radio.

I hope this helps you to find a resolution to your query.

Nothing that I do will get the microphone to work

try uninstalling and then re-installing the headset. Afterwards, if you are having audio problems, try the following:

• Plug the USB connector into an available USB port.
• Check your computer's volume level.
• Check if your computer's volume is muted.
• Check your operating system's audio input and output settings.
• Check the headset's volume and mute settings.
• Restart computer.

If you still experience issues, then I would recommend pursuing replacement options.

Dvd screen not working on car stereo

Does it work if you apply the parking brake. If so you can get around this but taking the wire from the radio that goes to the parking brake and grounding it.

Car cassete player and Radio (AM/FM) doesn't work when I drive

It sounds like you are having issues with one of your wires being connected to the Parking Brake. I know certain DVD players and back-up camera devices have a wire that when connected to the parking brake, will turn the screen blank until you are parked again. I am not sure if this is the issue though.

Bypass parking brake wire

Boss Audio is the easiest in-dash DVD on the market to bypass; all you do is ground the ebrake wire. I recently installed 12 Boss Audio in-dash BV-7300's and did this to all of the decks problem solved. By the way I did this because they were in the back of limousines where the driver couldn't ever even see one of them while he was driving. I don't think there will be a problem, try it.
