I just bought a T3i and only used it 2 days of shooting. On third day, it's not turning on and it's 80 degree's. So not cold weather. Batteries are fully charged. When I put batter in and turn the switch on, the red light comes on for only a second and then nothing! Other times the red light won't even come on, period. As I said, I've only had it 3 days and it's dead....
I have the same problem. I recharged batter but when I try to turn on my DSC F717 he just want start. Sometimes you just have to wait few hours and then its possible to turn it on. It is becoming very annoying! Any answer would be very helpful. Thanks!!!
This is a problem I have also encountered. that is very common. You should take out the battery and clean the connections on the batter and the camera with something dry like a Qtip. This should work but if not.
This is more than likely a Manufacturing problem. A lot of Vivitar cameras have this problem as well as many others that are usually not the consumers fault. Just a glitch in the technology. I alone have gone through four Vivitar cameras in the last six months. The best thing to do is contact Vivitar directly. This is there website: www.vivitar.comIt is best to see if you can find the number for technical support. To see if they can give you a refund or replace it for you. I hope this helps. -Richard
If your charger tries to charge at a rate which is too low for the capacity of the batteries they may never charge fully. Or if they are the wrong chemstry eg NmH not NiCd they will not charge properly. Try a separate charger for you batteries they place to go is a specialist store for the electronic boffin eg Tandy, Radio Shack.
