Try resetting your iphone.
Go into your settings on your iphone. Once you are in your settings in your iphone, click on general settings. Once you have done that, scroll all the way down to the bottom, and press reset. It will give you more options. First, try using the one that says "reset home screen layout". This may help if not.
Go back into your settings on your phone, Once you are in your settings in your phone, click on general settings. Once you have completed that, scroll all the way back to the bottom, click on reset. It will then again give you more options. Click on what should be the very first option which is, "Reset All Settings."
This should solve your problem.

    How to format IPHONE3G.

Formatting an iPhone 3G will erase all the data on your phone, delete all your apps and reset your phone to factory settings. Formatting your phone is a good last resort if you're having software issues with your phone. Keep in mind that the format is permanent and any data irrecoverable.

    1.Click the "Settings" icon.

    2.Select "General."

3.Scroll to the bottom and select "Reset."

4.Select "Erase All Content and Settings." A warning message will display. Confirm your selection. The iPhone screen will turn off then show a "waiting" sign. After formatting is complete, the Apple logo will display and finally your formatted iPhone will reboot.

Ipone 3gs restore factory setting code?

How to Restore iPhone 3G to Factory Settings

Make sure you are on the screen that holds your Settings icon. That is the icon with gears pictured in it. Touch the Settings icon.

In the Settings menu, touch the line that says General. It also has a picture of gears.

Scroll down the General page and you will see a line that says Reset. Select Reset.

This screen will show you several options you can reset including setting, home screen, keyboard dictionary, network settings and location warning. However, to erase all data, you will select the line that says Erase All Content and Settings. When you select it, a box will pop up with a red button saying Erase iPhone. There is also a warning saying it will delete all media and data and will take up to an hour. Touch the red button and your iPhone will format itself back to factory settings.

    Tips & Warnings

Back up all data you want to save on your computer.

To restore iPhone and reset the phone to default factory settings, follow these steps:

    1. Turn off iPhone - Hold down the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the red slider. Ignore this step if your iPhone is already off.
    2. Press and hold down the Home button for about 10 seconds until a yellow triangle with a text which says Please Connect to iTunes appears.

    iPhone Recovery Mode

    3. Plug the iPhone into Mac or Windows PC. Release the button if you haven't.
    4. Run and open iTunes if it's not already opened yet.
    5. iTunes will prompt a message that says iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click OK.
    6. You will be taken to the iPhone pane. Then, click on Restore.
    7. Wait for the full restoration process to complete, and the iPhone will be back to the original settings state as when it left the manufacturing factory, typically a working phone again if you face any problem, unless it's hardware related.

There is another mode called DFU mode which does not load the iBoot, and commonly used to downgrade the firmware and restore custom IPSW.

Use the link to below for DFU

    Hope it helped.

    Thanks for using fixya,..

Trying doing a hard reset on your iPhone:

    1. Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
    2. Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding
    3. The iPhone should now shutdown automatically - (fade to black)
    4. Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep/wake button.
    5. You should now see the Apple logo, your iPhone is restarting and thus booting up.
    6. You have completed a hard reset successfully.

Icons appear too large and have to scroll screen. I cant see the bottom of screen or apps. I can move it up or down slightly to see, but this just started today. It's like you want to want to srink it just...

The better answer to this is to put two or three fingers on the Iphone at once and tap 2 or 3 times.

If you hold more than 1 finger on the screen for too long, the icon will become large.
